I wouldn’t say I was especially surprised. Was just making the point thst my visceral response didn’t come from a place of hate. I was largely indifferent to him before. I just thought he was a bit of a wanker. He didn’t make my blood boil like so many other politicians.

I suppose I’m trying to contextualise my response.

That won't even make a difference I feel. My local Labour MP has been working really hard on local issues and he just gets pure shit in comments on his social media about Asylum hotels and 2 tier Kier. Even though he has done far more in 1 year than the previous MP ever managed. People will cut their nose off to spite their face and then when it all goes to shit never accept any of the blame as they will have a new target to hate.

I genuinely think this stuff will be their downfall. Sure people are pissed off and want another party to vote for, sure populism is on the rise across the world, and sure Farage is dangerous.

But everyone around him is a cringeworthy cretin and when they actually start getting covered like a major political party it’s going to be blunder after crisis after blunder and they’ll kill themselves.

There are people who will watch this and think it's true that the National School Curriculum is now dominated by LGBT stuff at the expense of other subjects, and that, for example, WW2 and Churchill aren't taught. It's just blatant lies, but many will believe it because it justifies and affirms their pre-existing prejudices. This is Reform's main tactic. To hell with truth and reality, just push the toxic culture wars lies.
