England v Andorra - Sat 6th Sept '25, 17:00 | World Cup Qualifier

It was a very strange appointment. I'm thinking they must have a top coach lined up who's not yet available, Peo? Southgate didn't want to carry on until then so they thought he'd be a decent stop gap.
I'm not sure why he's making such a ham fisted effort of it. We weren't great under Southgate but we were progressing deep in tournaments. All our previous games are still out there to watch if he wanted. So he should have watched them and just decided which bits he wanted to tweak to make us better. Instead he's trying everybody and it's a mess.

It's not a secret that they went for Pep. Pretty much every journalist close to the England camp has said as much.

It's why it took so long for Tuchel to be appointed in my opinion because Pep decided to renew and I think The FA were happy for Carsley to have the job until this summer just gone when Peps contract initially ran out.

I wouldn't be surprised one bit that the next manager will either be Pep or they will hand it to Carsley and keep it in house.

Seems I missed fuck all again.

4 wins out of 4 in WC qualification, heading towards the usual template of getting to the finals, being poor in the group stage but getting through, meet someone shit in the last 32/last 16, meet a decent team the round after and home they come.
Get through the group and draw someone ranked higher.
Listen to deranged gerbils going on about FIFA rankings meaning nothing, then lose to a team with a higher FIFA ranking.

Honestly asked a question about folk not being happy about another drab game to which he replied ........" they never are "
Ok Lee should we all fook and sit and put up with decades of boring dross ?????
Ok for you your getting good money to sit there posh hotels 1st class travelwhile some poor bastard will have forked out decent money for this crap
I heard Stuart Pearce says afterwards saying the only thing that matters is getting the result. What about entertaining the fans who have paid good money. Pearce also said the main thing about going to Serbia is "not to get beat." His moronic comments sum up the pathetic state of international football.

It was utterly woeful and you know it. City fans on this forum aren't alone in this thinking.

So I was replying to the sarcastic post that the media would be hailing us and saying we’re going all the way etc.

I responded saying that wouldn’t be the case. As you have highlighted.

We dominated, we won. It wasn’t great, England playing lower ranked teams never is and it’s nothing to do with the manager. It will always be that type of performance. I’m used to it and ok with it, others seems suprised and think we should win 10-0 everytime - even then there would be criticism that we only beat postmen etc

Let’s face it, England threads are just for some to let off steam and moan.

Moan moan fuckin moan

The problem is the “fans”

It really is.

Yes, I've seen all the moaners playing like shit in an England shirt. Or the players thinking, "Fuck this, that Blue moon lot are moaning again I can't put a pass together or finish a chance."
We are spectators/supporters. We comment on what our eyes witness. 99% of anybody watching that thought it was absolutely dog shit. That includes pundits and journalists. You can't polish a turd and that showing was one big turd. The only positive is it was a win....against a team ranked about 153 in world football.

What on earth makes you think its going to be a high level of football against fucking Andorra? And the rest of the group??

None of these games are going to be good. None.

But you just carry on with your “support”

I certainly will, thanks for allowing me to do that lol.
I was sitting on my settee watching it. I doubt my opinion or "Support" made one bit of difference. When was the last time England actually played well against any standard of opposition? I'm trying to remember. Maybe beating Germany in the Euros we hosted.

Is it really the manager or are the players simply not good enough?

They are so bloody boring to watch, no wonder Villa Park was emptying long before the final whistle.

Tuchel is a very good manager but it's very odd how he didn't start immediately.

The players are miles off it. Southgate had a great collection of players but in typical fashion we watch the PL believing any English players who are good in that are therefore the best in the world.

We don't have very many who are world class, we don't have very many who are absolutely critical to their club sides, winning them big games in the league/CL.

This most recent squad was missing a lot of attacking players. I think it's harsh to say we have regressed when the likes of Bellingham, Palmer, Saka and Foden were all missing.

I think our players are over hyped. We do kind of okay, qualifying for tournaments and recently going deep into tournaments but sadly the teams like Spain are just light years ahead of us.

I want my Country to do well. I really do. I watch every game. I am invested, but it really is a difficult watch.

Sadly, players like Rashford and Henderson have no business being there and it's a constant theme.

I thought we looked better when Gibbs-White and Morgan Rodgers came on. More energy and urgency. Not sure I see the point of Kane playing every minute of every game either.

I think we are all the same. We moan like fuck out of frustration and years of disappointment. If we could see an improvement in style and some sort of system emerging it would be something, but we just seem to grind and fluke out results, generally playing terribly as we do. We want to see some signs we are improving and can take on and beat the likes of Spain, who once again are probably the marker. Instead it seems to be one step forward and two back.

No one overhypes these players. No one.

All they get it criticised. Not one iota of hype.

There is a reason Foden chooses not to play.

England gets what it deserves.

Yes they do, the press and pundits over hype plenty of players, they always have. A lot of supporters fall for the hype so the disappointment hits harder when reality bites and they don't live up to it. They also then slaughter them, it's aways been the way for as long as I can remember.
Talking of remembering. It was a long time ago now but I'm sure Ramsey got loads of stick at first as England manager. Firstly for not playing with wingers. Then they didn't start the tournament well but we ended up winning it. If social media was around back then I'm sure initially he would have been slaughtered. Such is life.
As for Foden I think he was injured? I love the lad but he hasn't exactly set the world alight playing for England no matter which position he has played.
