President Trump

Have you ever been in the Dallas book depository? I did in 2019 and it totally changed my perspective. It’s an incredible vantage point.
Something I’d like to see were I to go to Dallas.
Just completing an 8 part JFK podcast (the rest is history) which is compelling (and for me, leaves no doubt who murdered him).

In other news, I’m off to New York in a couple of weeks.
I’d debated this so much but ultimately my eldest daughter pushed to go this year (she would have gone alone anyway) and I’ve always wanted to visit since I was a kid.

Not the best time to visit perhaps but I know a few at work who been recenty and throughly enjoyed it (with no issues).

Staying in New Jeesey (Hoboken) and very much looking forward to the trip.

I have a decent itinerary (mainly based on movies….and eateries) but welcome suggestions!

Go out and enjoy it, I try to do. If the conversation turns to politics, turn it to football, family, anything else but.

It’s a fascinating place, mainly because of how they understand how power works.

So the UN have voted by a massive majority to move their HQ to Geneva. If it comes off its another humiliation for Trump and his administration and of course he will have lost his control over who gets a visa to attend the UN. Another a diplomatic triumph - all this winning ...............

I lived in Hoboken one summer 30+ years ago and over the last two years of work recently, when I’d go to NYC for more than three days, I’d do an Air BnB condo in Hoboken and take the ferry to Manhattan every day. Cheaper, quieter, less stressful, more room and a nice escape from the city. Plus the views from the riverside out to Manhattan in the early am are magic. I think it’s a very smart way to go!

Basically over the last six months nearly all conversations between me and people I am just meeting for the first time have never once turned to politics. It’s that fraught and toxic now here. No one wants to risk the tension.

New York is great. Just wandering around neighbo(u)rhood-exploring is fun.

So they’re going to stay in Chicago for 8 years, have 50,000 dead troops, chemically bomb the citizens of Chicago and then leave with their tails between their legs.
Doesn’t sound like a winner…
He could always flatten Chicago and turn into a Riviera of the new Las Vegas. I mean he does run a casino well right?

Actually this is a major loss for Americans and a major victory for the MAGA racists.

They had to tamp down their racism to be the center of the world where the UN gathered.. so now that the UN isn't here.. they are free to have slavery again.

They aren't settling for an inch.. they want a million miles back in time to their perceived greatness.

From what I can gather they’ve voted to move their next General Assembly session to Geneva not their HQ.

A bit hit to the local economy.
I thought that they might move to the EU parliament building (Brussels or Strasbourg) pro tem as there are two buildings fully equipped for international bodies, always one empty.

That is brilliant news. A few pages back I asked why they, and the ICC didn't move. Let's see how he spins that.
Perhaps the Champions will reform to fight international injustice. (If your old enough you'll remember the opening credits :-)

Edit: sadly it seems it is just a temporary move to get round the US ban on the Palestinian delegate attending.
