Conspiracy theories......

Everything is a conspiracy now. When Starmer did that last week about the grooming gangs, someone I know said watch what they’re distracting us from - despite going on for years about the grooming gangs.

That fire in town now, it’s a conspiracy.

It all gets right on my fucking nerves.
The ultimate uniting theory;

there has been no effort to fight conspiracy theory from governments for years. In fact, many theories are generated centrally to continue to muddy the truth. People simply don't know what to believe anymore, and cannot get behind anything solid. No beliefs means no commitment means no fight means subjugated minds and populations.

Whilst that may sound pretty far fetched, it's undeniable that people are generally more exasperated at what is and isn't real, what is and isn't true. "I just don't know anymore". Plus, the age old "divide and conquer" is a strategy as old as time, and the above is the information age equivalent.

Has the age of the internet fuelled that? When I was a kid, even in my early 20s, it wasn’t a thing (the internet). People can now, at will, debunk anything with a few words.

I grew up where what has happened, happened. My parents both said that they cried watching the moon landing.

Well, they was crying at studio production kiddo!!

No, but the Internet must have accelerated this effect, due the rapidity of information assimilation and dispersion. I mean, conspiracy theories are old, many of them pre-date the Internet by years, but as crop circles in the Fortean times were to attention seeking young adults in the 80s/90s, the internet is to people these days, peddling nonsense.

Thing is, this is all entangled with much much larger societal problems such as loneliness, inequality, hopelessness and so on, which creates attention seeking and devil may care 'fuck the world' outlooks, not to mention 50 solid years of ideologically driven individualism where people will do anything to get attention, fame and material gain. So yeah, the internet is fuelling this, but it's not solely to blame.

Everyone has a voice these days. Sadly it doesnt mean they say anything meaningful

I'd happily donate a decent amount to a gofundme campaign to get all the flat earthers a rocket with just enough fuel to leave orbit so they can finally get some closure as they hurtle towards the moon.
Not quite the same thing but a rich American paid a gaggle of flat earthers to visit Antarctica to see the sun rotate around the south poll. Impossible on a flat earth.

It's caused quite a ruckus in the flerf world.

Leave the nut job videos to the nutjob folk. As soon as anybody I know goes anywhere near them I no longer know them. Fucking idiots

Have a look at the Celtic Boards statement blaming everybody, except them, for the chuck up. Arrogance and delusion aside, its unbelievable. Like most conspiracies. But its a better nonetheless.

Another conspiracy, the Sun apparently rotating round the POLL. Elections in Antarctica are fixed. Fake penguin votes. Bloody Maga. And another thing, why are women’s voted discounted in MALE ballots?

Flat earth has been well debunked, mainly by the most prominent flat earthers themselves in Antartica. Only ones still peddling that now, are the ones who don't want to give up their gravy train

Sounds like a conspiracy theory?
