Injuries 2025/26 | Kovacic could be ruled out for further 3-4 months (p37)

I think people are blowing the injury list completely out of proportion.

Gvardiol is back training nearly two weeks.

Stones was sent home as a precaution.

Foden is back training.

Savinho is back training.

Khusanov could make the Derby on Sunday.

Kovacic, Cherki and possibly Marmoush missing, ain't anywhere near as bad as people are making out.

Uninjured team for Sunday

Trafford
Nunes Dias Ake O'Reilly
Reijnders Rodri Gonzales
Silva Haaland Doku

Bench: Donnarumma, Bobb, Foden ? Gvardiol ? Savinho ? ? ? ?

I’d say Ait Nori and Lewis have a reasonable chance of being fit. Wouldn’t fully rule out Khusanov or Stones yet. Savinho might be back. Doubt Foden will be available as he was apparently due for a scan on his ankle. Gvardiol’s injury is a bit of a mystery.

Actually O'Reilly pulled out the England U21s along with Lewis so he shouldn't be in the XI - if he's still out then RAN and Rico possibly being available would be welcome news.

If it's a knee ligament bruise it's 2 weeks out.

Scan will be to see if it's medial or acl
What that means is suspected ligament damage. They will know which ligament is affected but they haven't said. I suspect it's minor but we won't know until the scans are completed.

This is a big blow for the Derby because we are short on numbers and short on players who can make an impact from the bench. I think we have players who are close to fitness but are not 100%.

Fact remains none of those 5 recovering players you mention are likely to be fit to start on Sunday.

We don't know he is, he was sent home as a precaution.

Well I guess he was still feeling something isn't right. They're not bringing him in and sending him home for no reason.

Let's be real, he simply isn't reliable in terms of availability. I think the reality is we can hope or expect to get about 20 leagues games a season out of him. Brilliant player but time we start solidifying who is his true replacement.

lol grow up
TBF, the hard part is knowing what our expectations should be. If this were the old days and it was 40 points and give the rags a pair of hard-fought matches then that'd be one thing. But if it's win the league, big performance in CL, etc. then despite how early it is your expectations would already have taken a bit of a knock. Obviously for most I'd guess it was probably somewhere between the two realistically and closer to the latter even before the season began but I can understand the worry even if I don't agree.

Marmoush is so soft. You'd think it was his ACL . Anyway , what's another strapping on his knee already has one of his hand , even for training.
