Your favourite sitcom

Detectorists - just beautiful whimsical British comedy
The Thick of It - last chance to satirise British politics before it became a shitshow
Dads Army - just coz - perfect cast perfect scripts perfect everything

I loved Len Rossiter, so Rising Damp and Reggie Perrin did it for me.
US: Big Bang, brilliant writing and Jim Parsons as Sheldon was superbly nerdish.
The combination of great writing and comedy acting was always a sure fire winner. See also Return of the Likely Lads. Dick Clement, Ian la Frenais, James Bowlam.

Porridge all time favourite, then Auf Wiedersehn Pet. others not mentioned i dont think, Brush strokes and man about the house.

Shelley - Hywel Bennett was brilliant.

Yes Minister/Prime Minister - Brilliant writing and the acting was ace.

I actually liked My Family. Particularly Janey!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fawlty Towers, Porridge, Blackadder, The Simpsons, Red Dwarf, Father Ted, Absolutely Fabulous, Friends, Bottom, South Park, The Royle Family, I'm Alan Partridge, The Office, Black Books, Phoenix Nights, IT Crowd, Extras, The Thick of It, Peep Show, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Inbetweeners, Parks and Rec, Fleabag, Derry Girls, Stath Lets Flats.

And then I don't know if you'd count them as sitcoms, but The League of Gentlemen and Green Wing.

I'll be honest though, I haven't watched a lot of the more recent American ones that everyone loves.

Derry Girls is a great shout. Put it off for ages, binged the first two series one evening in lockdown then did the same thing about a week later. Really watchable and captures the 90s (and Derry) brilliantly.
