Charlie Kirk shot dead at Utah university

It’s not a simple fact yet. We don’t know the motive.

If you are fearful for your life because of an opinion you HAVE then the logical thing to do is to shut the fuck up and don’t offer your opinion in public.

Without trying to sound callous, no one on earth would have known who Kirk was had he held all the exact same opinions but been a gardener or something.

It doesn’t make what happened right in any way, shape or form. But nothing and no one is forcing you to offer your opinion in public. I repeat: nothing and no one.
Ehmm...so women are to blame for rapes, LGBTQ for homophobia etc.? Victim blaming is not a very nice thing to do. Free speech is dead.
RIP Charlie, you backed your beliefs, a sad day for free speech
Exactly, I am what most would describe as a centrist, but some posts on this thread are disgusting. A 31 year old gets obviously targeted for his political beliefs and some mock his death. That's how you make extremism acceptable, and create an even more dangerous and fucked up world than it already is. It seems like you can't have any controversial views or you will get killed for it? What the fuck is wrong with some people?!

Let me ask you a simple question.

If you have an opinion, do you HAVE to say what it is in public?

It’s a yes or no question, so just say yes or no.

How do you know why he was killed?

Well I think there's a 99% chance it's because someone opposes his views.

Hardly a random attack is it? Seeing as there was thousands in attendance and the person that got shot just happened to be the host of the event that has influence over many young people and views the left don't agree with. It would be a hell of a coincidence if he is the one that got shot for no reason.

I think we all know why he was killed. Let's not play silly buggers.

The fucking irony in that post. LOL

Charlie Kirk seemed like a good man. Husband, father of two. Stood for much common sense as hiring people on merit, thinking the color of peoples skin and/or gender should be irrelevant. Being against confused minors being allowed irreversible gender treatment. Understood unlimited undocumented immigration is insanity. Was pro the country fighting the terrorists that attacked them instead of the ones who did the terrorist attack. Was against the government taking law abiding citizens guns away.

All of this is obviously considered as "dangerous", "insane", "racist" or "far right extremism" to the modern woke leftist but was seen as common sense to more or less everyone just a few decades ago (while most modern woke leftist ideas would probably put you in a mental institution back then).

Exactly, a man with a wife and 2 young children, murdered in cold blood, because he stood up to what he believed in, but because his views didn't align with some loony leftie, he was killed.
State of this post! The authorities have got no idea who did this but it seems to have triggered you anyway. I'm surprised you didn't mention "woke" in there too!

Accordingly to my paper of choice, the lefty/wokey Guardian, "He [Kirk] is also known for his inflammatory, often racist and xenophobic commentary, particularly on college campuses."

Those views don't align with mine, anyone I know or those of most decent people. If they align with yours then I will bid you a good day and suggest you get some help.

You’re missing quite a lot of his views there, to be fair. Him having sensible opinions on some doesn’t condone everything else.

I personally found some of his positions and arguments abhorrent. I do admire him for his willingness to debate it all though, even if it felt like he came up against a moron most of the time!

Still, he was 31 and leaves behind a wife and two children. That makes everything else I’ve just said irrelevant to the most important thing right now, it’s horrific what’s happened to him and I feel so sorry for his family.

Well, yes, we would consider it dangerous. Given what happened, I imagine Charlie Kirk may have had second thoughts if he could.

Incredible to think that some will rejoice in this news. How very sad for all those close to him.
It's sad that people now can't pick up a book and base their views on research, rather than what they see on a social media video. It seems that these days, people can only hate what they don't agree with, without really knowing what either side is all about!

For instance, I'm a 41 year old lad from Salford (still live here) who has always voted Tory because I believe it is best for me. However I am fascinated by Socialism (even tho I don't agree with it). But I love nothing more than speaking to my mam and dads mates who worked on Salford Docks, and at Agecroft Pit about what a Socialist is, We can debate for hours, will never agree, but never argue or result to name calling! We research and try to understand we think differently!

If only people knew what they were angry about ha?

Unfortunately he supported the Israeli terror attacks against Palestinian children, so not exactly right.

Difficult to expect that from this crowd when at LEAST a dozen posters have already concluded WHY this happened and even WHAT KIND of person killed Mr. Kirk without knowing a single fact.

I'm not sure it's even worth a debate in USA anymore. Ban them or not, there's so many guns in circulation either way that it's never going to be hard to get hold of one of you really want one. Also, schools and colleges are rather public places, so unless you have a high level security operation at every place of education, which isn't feasible, then people are gonna have no bother getting guns in. I don't think labelling somewhere a "gun free zone" would make a difference.

I think it's madness they let citizens have guns in the first place but I think it's way too late to undo it. That's the sad reality. They should never allowed so many legal guns into circulation. You're never gonna recover then all if the law changes and you'll just have a lot of people selling them illegally.
The best analogy is that it's like trying to close Pandora's box . . . or, shuttin' the barn door after them there horses have already escaped.

He said people being shot dead, including schoolchildren, was worth it for the second amendment. Wonder how the parents of those murdered children feel about his death?

It's a tough one mate, no country should allow civilians to have guns (as America proves with the mass shootings). But I do believe that all British police should carry them. cunts like that Dale Creagan prove my point
