The right to free speech collided with another freedom in America, the right to bare arms. This has happened and they aren’t discussing how fucked up their gun laws are, until someone wakes up and does this will go on and on.

The gun supporters' point (and probably Kirk's) I believe is that it is the violence of people who commit crimes that is the problem in the US and not the availability of guns themselves.

I can see some sense in that but I think the nature of that violence points to a major culture issue in the US and there seems no effort to resolve it (at least from the outside).

I would imagine that by nature the left would be more interested than the right in analyzing and addressing the core causes. I'd say it'd be interesting to see how it plays out but I'm jaded in it at this stage (Trump effect) and try to ignore as much as possible these days. Including much details on this case other than obviously it's not nice that a person was murdered.
