Seems to me the worse the rags are they then get a result against us baffling..
That’s what derbies are like and part of what makes them special.

Before our 2008 takeover, we had the fourth best PL era record agsinst United behind Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal… and we were mostly completely average or shite in that era and even spent four of those years out of the division.

Nunes? Wouldn’t trust that clown to open a packet of crisps.
Who else do you want to see there? Lewis?

i feel like a 3-5-2 would work even better

Khusanov - Stones - Gvardiol
Nunes - Rodri - Reijnders - Reilly
Bobb - Doku
Haaland

Lewis would be fine if he was told to keep it simple, no risky passes. Of course we should have signed a right back but Pep needs us to suffer for a year or two before he takes that drastic step.

do the club still provide plastic macs?
Not sure tbh, I only moved to the lower tier last season and can’t recall them being handed out. Wonder if the kick off will get put back, if we get torrential rain and it doesn’t ease up before kick off could be dodgy. I was at the home game against Ipswich that got abandoned way back in 94. Typically we were 2-0 up at the time.

Agreed this is a must win. But I don’t think talent has much to do with our performances as the low block/counter helps negate our quality — that’s the point of it. It’s a cancellation tactic. Nearly all sides will try to set up an “irresistible force vs. immovable object” type clash — especially because at 0-0, the opposing side is usually “winning” in their minds, or happy enough. So what it really comes down to isn’t our talent, but mistakes and luck, of which we’ve made far too many, and had not much of, respectively, in our last two matches.
After we lost to Chelsea in the CL final in 2021 we played the same " immovable object" in September 2021 at Stamford Bridge . But Pep changed tactics completely after losing that final to counter their extreme low block - Tuchel was their manager at the time. We pressed them all over the field but also defended deeply when needed especially after Jesus scored. At times in that game Chelsea found it very difficult to defend in the final third as the press was too good. All in all It was a masterclass from Pep. I'd love something similar tomorrow because Amorim will be set up to defend low block style , spoil and not to lose which will have the "feeling of a win". Then just capitalise on some mistakes.

False nine days. Big difference

I don't know why but I cannot get myself up for this game. I'm not sure whether it's a reaction to the last 2 performances and now the fact that Wolves have lost all their games putting that win into further perspective. I'm not an entitled fan but somehow.. and it's my shrinks week--end off

Yep. And as everyone remembers, just before the PL period we smashed them in ’89 when we hadn't actually been playing at all convincingly (we'd lost most of our league matches up to then and just been kicked out of the League Cup by Brentford).
Derbies, eh? There's no accounting for them. The only really predictable derby, unfortunately, is Liverpool v Everton.

There so so so bad they were a last minute goal away from drawing v burnley at home and now it's being painted as a half decent start . There managers record is shocking .if we turn up in any sort of way well smash them
