25 | Gianluigi Donnarumma - 2025/26

No one with a good keeper is doing this, and given it completely undermines the entire reason for Pep having his keeper playing with his feet, I would be amazed if he is doing it in 6 months time.

It screamed “don’t make him uncomfortable on debut” to me, and I expect they’ll be getting him up to speed with his feet from here on, but time will tell, if Dias is taking goal kicks in April I’ll be amazed.
I’ve seen both Liverpool and Arsenal do it on occasion but as usual you know better.

Eddie is the definition of a “tippy tappy” (ie better with his feet than hands) keeper, so that was absolutely slagging Ederson off, don’t tell me the sky isn’t blue.
You literally came into this thread just to fucking argue. Bore off. It’s not the Ederson thread. He’s gone, get over it.

Excellent today. Don’t think he can be criticised for anything. We will grow into him from a passing point of view too

Excellent debut. Very assured and confident.

Dealt with the crosses brilliantly and an outstanding save from a close range volley which may well have changed the course of the game.
Absolutely. At 2-1 they would have the wind in their sails and we would be nervous for the last 30 minutes or whatever it was. One of those saves most keepers don’t make.

He wasn’t too shabby with his feet, either.

I can live with him.

What I can't live with is Ruben passing to Trafford's wrong foot from the 6y line under an immense press so everyone blames Trafford.

The Rags press was nowhere near like what we faced vs Spurs or Brighton and even more worrying for me was the fact when a totally out of form Rodri went off.. we lost all control of the game and the rags had 5-6 good chances that they squandered.

But yes I still think Trafford is a better keeper but I'm for City winning games.. whoever does that I'm not gonna complain about!
Double yawn.

We finally have a goalkeeper who knows how to be a proper goalkeeper.

Top class.

I thought he was great but let’s not pretend Ederson wasn’t a proper goalkeeper too, he just had different skill sets.

If he’s as effective for us as Ederson was, albeit for different reasons, then I’ll be very happy.
