I think the funny thing is that Amorin was probably the right manager. But they still need to replace at least 6 players with proper world class players. But as we see ourselves world class players are few and far between these days. So they'll get a new manager and continue the cycle.

Luke Shaw, Harry Maguire, Casemiro, Bruno... all should have been replaced long ago.

That said their only really decent addition of late seems to be Mbuemo.

I heard Goldstein on Talksport or whoever say “the job is too big for Amorim.” I hear others say they need to sign some quality players but it’s hard to sign good, young ones because of the pressure that comes from playing there, and that things are a “mess” so young players can’t thrive.

Isn’t the real problem that the club is in fact now too shit to attract a good manager, and good players aren’t not thriving because of “pressure” or “the mess” but because they are too shit a club to attract good players?

Isn’t this much more logical?

Their celebration of their transfer window as something only they could do in their position. They’ve spent upwards of £200 plus million on Premier League jobbers and a striker that looks worse than the person he was replacing in Hoijland. Not to mention signing a keeper from a league that is worse standard than the championship.

I heard some idiot rag in the beer garden before the season started that they could compete for the league with their new signings. I nearly spat my pint out in disbelief.

They get rid of Amorim and the circle of mediocrity keeps going. They’ve already got Sancho, Hoijland and Rashford out on loan, a new manager comes in and he will have to completely rebuild the squad and take a wrecking ball to it. Trouble is who would want the players they have? They only have one good player in Fernandes and he’s the wrong side of his career age wise. It’s death by a thousand cuts and will take another billion to fix, trouble is they need probably another three billion to build their stadium on top of what ever the council pays to move that freight terminal. They are in a right spot of bother.

It's wonderful isn't it.

Just think if they had a competent manager, , DoF & CEO instead of trying to get one over on us, they could have kept Sancho, Rashford & Hojland, took the 100m for rat face & spent the money they've wasted this summer on 2 decent midfielders.

Fernandez is the best of that shower but he wouldn't make our 11, nor would he fit into our squad mentality, each time I watch him when things go wrong he hides, Phil's goal on Sunday he stood still instead of tracking Phil, then threw his arms in the air and bollocked his defence, he dives, he cheats, he's in the refs face constantly, he plays more balls backwards or sideways than forward. His stats would be crap if it wasn't for penalties.

Trouble is they have had competent managers and it’s not worked. Van Gaal and Mourinho have impressive cvs but they had to work in situations like having family man Ryan being thrusted onto them to take training or Taggert and his class of 92 minions putting their two pennies worth in for what should be done in the background.

They can’t accept where they are as a club and still have this idea of where they should be. Setting out deadlines to win the league in 2028 as it’s some anniversary is completely unrealistic. Putting together nice models of stadiums when they are billion in the hole and don’t have any backers wanting to finance it is another area where they are going wrong.

City as a club are in transition and have ceded ground to Liverpool and Arsenal. I hope our management team looks at what has happened at the swamp and realises delusion and complacency married with unrealistic goals can be a disaster for the long term ambitions of a football club.
 
What I've found strange is they've got rid of their two quickest players. So now they're piss easy to defend against. They are up shit creak without a paddle this season. Great to see
