Can’t believe the rags are above us right now. The Brighton and Spurs results are really annoying.
It's not the defeatist attitude it's a realistic one. Too many players in such a short space of time takes a while to click. It's only 2 weeks ago we lost to Brighton, 3 weeks ago lost to Spurs at home, we've beaten a shit rag side and a 10 man Napoli and all of a sudden we should be contenders again lol. We do have good players, very good ones some with huge potential but we've also got many new ones who are still finding their feet. But why not. Why the defeatist attitude. We have the greatest manager of all time. Arguably the best keeper in the world. The best forward in the world. Rodri and foden hopefully back in the groove. Gvaridol, kushanov and marmoush are excellent players. I also think reijndeers and Gonzalez are excellent midfielders and will do well for us.
We are better than a lot of our fanbase seem to think we are and with the squad we have should 100% competing for the league.

Arsenal are a very good team and are very well drilled and been together for 4/5 years now half our squad have been together 6 months.
Don't do it to yourself pal. City won't finish with 10pts of the title winners.
Eze did not defeat us it was bent varThey won't need to - there's a strong team around them. Oh, and there's this, of course...

People have a right to be optimistic but it’s bordering on blindness. We’ve had a couple good performances, but I’ll wait until we can do it consistently before my prediction for the season differs from yours. It's not the defeatist attitude it's a realistic one. I think someone on here said "No team has ever won the league losing 5 games"...But why not. Why the defeatist attitude. We have the greatest manager of all time. Sure is mate. It’s the hope that kills.
A win tomorrow will leave us level on points with arsenal , 6 behind Liverpool and give us a confidence boosterWhy so much talk about point differences in September? Just play the games as they come to get a better level of performance and see where we fall in the mix come February. It’s a period of transition still ffs.
As opposed to 'dwindling' on them myself & others are politely referencing them to highlight that Pep's,despite his success, is not faultless, but fallible.Pep has got us cl football every season, won 6 league titles and every won we could have won we have done. The cl final he played Gundogan instead of 36 yr old Fernandinho or 22 yr old Rodri I don’t think it’s the worst mistake in the world. Apart from that game I cant think of many more, and anyway even if he make a few why dwindle on them when there’s so many good moments he’s provided us with
Just my opinion but I feel like the players fully back pep and if they didn’t either they would leave or pep would call it a day. Even if u feel like pep made a mistake or two or his 9 year tenure, why bring up games from 4/5 years ago and when there’s so much success to think about. Unless u feel like pep should go why talk about his shortcomings? As opposed to 'dwindling' on them myself & others are politely referencing them to highlight that Pep's,despite his success, is not faultless, but fallible.
Imo, we've lost too many winnable CL games along with cup semis and finals against inferior, beatable clubs.
I'm sure most of the players, past & present, feel similarly.
Just a pov.
We won the league in 2014 losing 6 games.I think someone on here said "No team has ever won the league losing 5 games"...
We've already lost 2, plus our usual annual turn over at Anfield.
Lose tomorrow and we have ONE more game to lose - if the statement is correct.
Scousers are getting over the line every game. And that's all that matters. Wether it's last minute penalties or dickheads getting sent off or players giving stupid free kicks away in dangerous positions late in games.
Exactly why I won't even bother watching them. Call it defeatist or whatever you want. But it's the harsh reality. IMO.
Couldn't agree more. I would say this is a must-win for us to have any chance of the title. I know this will only be five games in but (according to Grok) no team has ever won the Prem having dropped seven points from the from their first five games, let alone nine.If we lose tomorrow then I don’t care what anyone else says the leagues done. Can’t be losing three games in the first five and expect to put pressure on Liverpool.
Yes you are correct. We won the league in 2014 losing 6 games.
Donnarumma got me feeling confidentI fancy us tomorrow
When I really think about it, I acknowledge we've only beaten two dog muck teams in the league and there's a chance Arsenal might take us apart .
But I've got a feeling we will do them
Shit comment.
You've got no idea whether Pep will change the line up.
If he does it will be because we played a game 3 days ago.
We've just played the same 11 twice so your timing is just weird.
We've won loads of trophies since 2021.
