There's just as much pressure on Pep, 6 points from the opening 5 games is simply not good enough in any circumstance and would leave us behind the likes of Leeds, Sunderland and the dreadful Rags.

We shouldn't be worried about whatever pressure is on Arsenal or Arteta, we should be going there to take a point or three simple as.
If we lose today, we are still 3 points better off from the same games played compared to last season where we finished 3rd…

2024-25:
Wolves a, won 1-2
Spurs h, lost 0-4
Brighton a, lost 2-1
United h, lost 1-2
Arsenal a, lost 5-1
3 points from 5 games
GD -9

2025-26
Wolves a, won 0-4
Spurs h, lost 0-2
Brighton a, lost 2-1
United h, won 3-0
Arsenal a…?
6 points from 4 games with Arsenal to play
GD +4

Not looking forward to this game really. I think we’ll try and do them on the counter and let them have the ball, need the defence to be on it.

Donnarumma

Khusanov
Dias/Stones
Gvardiol
O’Reilly

Reijnders
Rodri
Nico G

Foden
Haaland
Doku
Like the look of that team, I'm like you at not looking forward to it at all, I see it as being a bit of a free hit game and that might benefit us a bit

The only one I’d be inclined to change would be Bernie purely for his revenge mission as a captain. But I do like the thought of a Nico/Rodri double pivot which would let Reijnders go a bit further forward. Think he’ll be targeted on the ball if he’s getting it in deeper areas.

I have no idea why I’m so confident but I’ve just got a good feeling about today. I feel like this week on and off the pitch our senior/better players have decided to take ownership of what’s gone on the last 12 months and they’ve stepped up. A great test to see where we’re at but fuck it bring it on

4 is about the average.

The most is 6, but it's only been in 1998 with Arsenal, United in 1996 and 2001 and us in 2014 and 2021.

That's 5 in 30 years.

5 losses is typically the cut off.

I think if we are to lose tomorrow, 3 defeats by September would be curtains for our title hopes.

3rd or 4th for us would be most likely scenario.
No team has ever won the Premier League after losing 3 out of their first 5 games. Nothing is impossible but losing today would mean this team has to pull off a comeback unprecedented in PL history to win the league. Considering our performances in the recent year little to nothing suggest thats going to happen.

Massive game today and we need a result.

I dint think the jury's oot on the new signings at all, I think we've made some fantastic signings, but I also don't expect them all to hit the ground running and know the intricacies of each other's game after just a couple of outings.

So as my point was framed around being a distance behind Arsenal currently and as you say ‘you don’t expect them to hit the ground running and know the intricacies of each others game’ you agree then?

Woke up this morning with a head full of confidence maybe thats just the hangover kicking in!!! ;)
This is it. This the chance for the NEW Manchester City to show the world we are back, if we win today id say we are more than capable of chasing the dippers down but we need to win today - 9 points is too big a gap imo. Lets do this blues, lets show them we are back and we are challenging. Personally i cant wait, Arsenal will have to do a lot more than they did last year to beat Donnarumma!
Cmon City, MCFC OK

Can sense a big performance from the blues today. Erling will be well up for it and he’s bang in form.
Come on city!!!!!

Just my opinion but I feel like the players fully back pep and if they didn’t either they would leave or pep would call it a day. Even if u feel like pep made a mistake or two or his 9 year tenure, why bring up games from 4/5 years ago and w
I didn't inititiate,I responded.

Think we gonna have to score at least twice to get anything from this game. Can see us going 2 1 down and equalising late on to rescue a point.

I’d snap your hand off for that tbh!

No pressure on Pep, we're in a transitional period that much is pretty obvious. The season is 38 games long not 5, simple as.
