Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

I refuse to celebrate a draw. Who is responsible for the signings in the last 2-3 years? These players cant keep possesion or press like they should. Might aswell let Pep go if anti-football is the way forward for this team, Pep is not that coach. Can´t watch this that kind of football going forward and it didn´t even get the 3 points after all. Never thoguht il see us playing like this ,when Pep is still around.
3 tough games in a week should be duly considered. By 70 minutes today our arses we’re hanging out.
Good result and as usual too much negativity!

Still a great week. As soon as 7 mins went up there was a bad feeling something might still not go our way. But a great effort. Several worked their bails off unlike say the Brighton game: Doku Phil Bernie Erling Gvardiol Rodders. And O’Reilly and Khusanov played really well. Terrific goal too, both the pass and the finish. Donnarumma already giving a feeling of more defensive confidence even though I loved Eddie to bits!

New team, new system. Adapting to the redshirt up and under tactics. It all takes time. Defensively miles better, Nunes won't be here forever. Maybe this is dipper Pep's introduction. We ain't going away and never in a million years will the rags win the league again. Love it.

I'm pleased with that.
Arsenal are better than us at this time, but we have shown a flexibility that many of us were hoping for. Their equaliser was a cracker.

The possession game has given us wondrous times, but we need more variety to our game, including being able to be dogged, to attack at speed, AND to control possession.

Well done boys. Two wins and a draw in the last three is a good return given the opposition.
Nice post.

Doku really growing in confidence. I'm seeing it now. Haaland a beast. Khusanov is so much better than Nunes. Donna top class. Another game for Rodri. Most the others aren't as good as we used to have and pep at least realizes that. Also the depth has gone. It's a good point against a better team.
I think it’s a big result confidence wise. We’re still miles off our best and I think we’re still short of fitness but we had enough to get the point. Mentality was superb till savinho came on.

Pep and Lijnders are building something here, that goal on the counter was so similar and as fast as counter attacks that Lijnders and Klopp had at the dippers. Quick football.

if this is permanent i don´t think Pep is the best coach for that and i really don´t think he will ever walk away from his principles, that is not going to happen. This team isn´t near to the treble or centurion team and that might be the reason we are struggling to play like Pep wants.
Pep is changing his system for certain teams and I for one like it.. before it was plan A and if it doesn’t work we’ll guess what we stick with play A and get destroyed.. we can’t play a high like against this Arsenal especially after khuso went out.. I thought it was a smart move.. soak up their pressure.. again they had no threat for over 80mins.

Did we lose?
No but we didn’t win either.

We needed a win and another high line defensive shit show saw us undone.

We played a 5-5-0 formation and still conceded with a high line to a ball over the top!

If that were the rags (who were level on pints with btw) we’d be pissing ourselves.

It was a shocking performance wrapped up as a grind it out, gritty defensive display…. Which we didn’t even grind out.

Can't believe some of the comments I'm reading on here tonight. We played a major game on Thursday, fuck it!!

GIVE THE TEAM SOME FUCKING RESPECT
yeah, incredible, as usually - zero perspective, zero context. They just do not enjoy thinking.

Meanwhile its clear that: 1) we building fitness as our pre season been much shorter, we are simply behind top teams which had missed the CWC, 2) we played on thursday and had to get to the London, 3) taking point at Emirates in this circumstances is paramount and we actually could have taken 3.

Im pretty sure everybody at the club are happy because they are aware how the things work. We gonna be a different animal in the reverse fixture

Precisely.

And now he plays for fucking Everton.

Jack there receives the ball and runs it into the corner or wins the free kick.

To be fair any other fucker apart from Savinho does that but because he's a fucking idiot forgets the previous 93 minutes and heads straight for Arsenals box.

How the fuck is he still at this club?
He's 21 ffs give the kid a fucking break honestly it's fucking boring.

So fucking frustrating to concede so late in the game, after defending brilliantly. It was a taste of his own medicine for Lego head, and to have taken all three points would have been the irony of all ironies.

The goal was a brilliant counter attack, and Reijnders did brilliantly to carry the ball so far forward. Håland's finish was top-class, as well as his lay-off to Tijjani to start the move.

If nothing else, it proves that Pep and Manchester City know that there is more than one way to play football, even if we weren’t quite able to see the game out.
