Arsenal (A) | PL | Post Match Thread

It's a one-off game - not a whole new tactical approach. We've played 3 tough games in 7 days and against last year's runners-up and UCL semi-finalists who had 2 days extra rest. Pragmatism had to be employed today.
Spot on. Very good 8 days for the club. Will be very interesting to see our tactics next Saturday. I would suspect they will be a lot different than today. I don’t mind that today. With all the injuries and Rodri not up to speed yet, there’s no way that starting XI can go toe to toe with Arsenal away. Disappointing with it being so late in the game, but a very good point. Such a difference to last season

Twatwell shouldn't be anywhere near a City game its absolutely obvious he hates us he's a fucking disgrace
More Gillett on Var, always ignoring nailed on decisions to award against us, like the Cup Final. The club needs to call it out for once as Var should have ruled their goal out but he must be bent to constantly ignore the rules of the game for us

I think it’s a big result confidence wise. We’re still miles off our best and I think we’re still short of fitness but we had enough to get the point. Mentality was superb till savinho came on.
Agreed totally. Sav needs sitting down. I mean Bobb isn't much better at pressing but I at least trust him to do the right thing.

Micah Richards
Former Man City defender on Sky Sports
That is the poorest I have seen Manchester City on the ball for a long time.
clown.......considering we were coming into the last week 2 defeats on the bounce , we're on the right track with moosh and cherki to come back
Richards is a tit, and a woeful pundit. Should piss off back to flogging cars.

So that's what it's been like playing against us for the last decade

True, except that we wouldnt get 7 mins, more like three, and the ref would give em every 50/50.

Oh, and if we equalised like that var would check for that foul and disallow the goal.

Then post game sky would be carving us up for not winning, probably lauding arse for their persistence.

Anyway, I think we would have beaten us in that situation..........if that makes sense.

I think we clocked a total of SIXTEEN added mins between the two halves, probs at skys behest.

Time for a game clock methinks, play stops, clock stops, no need for added time.

They wont of course, as it removes some control of the game proceedings from pigmol and their bosses.

Sorry if Im ranting, just endured the longest 50 mins in footy history with no reward at the end of it.

Some real bellends on here. All hands to the pump, fighting performance. Best we have played in defence for a long time. Real fighting spirit against a good Arsenal team.
Full if absolute tools mate. Savinho's fault lol fuck all to do with Twatwell not giving a City freekick for the foul on Nico.

City were absolutely brilliant and deserve huge credit. If we can go Arsenal and Liverpool and not lose I'd take it all day.

Today has given me a lot of belief I'm actually thinking I shouldn't write us off despite all the changes.

A good point, very good when the injuries are taken into consideration. Hopefully Khusanov isn’t a bad one.
As for Arse-anal, obviously a billion pound spend hasn’t made much difference. Perhaps Pulis could make a better job of Capt Black’s tactics.

City played well - out Arsenal'd us. I think we went too defensive in the 1st half but City were always a threat on the break.

Not sure why Pep took Haaland off - that was basically a cue for us to just go full Alamo on the City goal as the main counter attack threat was off and Arteta took off Timber and stuck Martinelli up top as a result.

Draw probably fair - for all our possession I think Donnarumma had like 2 or 3 saves to make. We were lucky not to concede a 2nd on the break when Eze kicked it against Rice and it flew over. Ref was somewhat lenient to Silva in the 1st half when he was on a yellow and stupidly kicked it against Trossard however I thought there was a foul in the build up to our equaliser and was expecting VAR to look at it. I haven't seen the replay but it seemed like our defender fouled your attacker before the ball went up to Martinelli.

We've finally scored against Donnarumma! Was surprised with how well City defended TBH - nullified our corners, got their heads onto crosses and this after playing on Thursday night.

check out brian the blue's posts

every one is negative in some way or other
Great spot.
@brian the blue sucks the life out of every thread he has the displeasure of commenting on by the looks of things.
Cheer up Brian, fill your half empty glass and enjoy the ride. Life is bloody brilliant when you look back over the past 15 years with loads more amazing times to come.

Good result in the grand scheme of things. Horrible to concede late on so feels a bit like a loss, like equalising at home last season felt like a win.
Point away at Stoke -sorry- arsenal is always a good result.
Keeps the momentum going into the next few weeks, some very winnable games coming up.

There’s been a major improvement in the team over the last three games. We are moving in the right direction and Pep is generally picking the right team. Hopefully we will continue to improve as the season goes on. Liverpool can’t keep scrambling victories every week - can they ?
