4 | Tijjani Reijnders - 2025/26

Should have gone to the line but had a good game. Sometimes does thing at a higher pace than he needs to which leads to errors. Same as Marmoush. But seem Reij seems a lot more technically accomplished and will become better when he has fully adjusted to the pace of the league in my opinion

A real threat on the break again when he was played essentially as the 10. Created the goal brilliantly (i'll admit i thought he took too long to play it but it was perfect) but he's awful defensively. There is no excuse for repeatedly jogging back when seconds later after we reclaim possession he's sprinting forward. Got to do it both ways. You get a grace period to learn that at city then you'll gind yourself benched until you learn it. That period won't last much longer.

Defensive contributions was always known to be his weakness, the numbers at Milan showed this.

He also has basically played straight with little rest.

That being said, yes, he needs to improve here, but he is not the 8 who can be a 10 we thought he was, he is more of a 10 who can be an 8.

Likely Pep has noticed that too.

He needed that game today.

He had to work his arse off and fell short at the end. Was gassed by 60 minutes but staying on will be good for him.

Now he knows what he needs to do.

Played reasonably well. Got himself into good space at times to move the ball up the pitch but was a bit passive defensively (didn’t put a single tackle in and lost 4 out of 5 body-to-body duels, easily being shrugged off the ball).

Was worried he’d left the pass for Haaland’s goal too late but he just managed to time it right so got a good assist.

Fucking has to pass that ball up the line to Savinho before their goal though. Felt like that moment undid all the good he’d done with the ball in the game.

Did well for the assist, but fuck me… he looks so poor in duals. Gets bodied off Saka and is really sloppy in possession.

Why he doesn’t take it to the corner on the 92nd is beyond me. It’s the easiest decision in the world and he drove through the centre of the pitch!?

Savio didn’t make a run I know, but he should go there himself.

Partly cost us the 2 points with that decision alone.

I do think he might drop out for kovacic for a bit, but it's pretty normal new midfielder at city stuff tbh. Some good signs some bad. Decision making the biggest issue

Great energy and workrate and credit to him coming in and playing game after game. So much he can develop and improve on but he will need time to adjust.

Decent yesterday, did a lot more of the dirty work than in previous games and a good assist for Haaland. Take it to the fucking corner flag though!

Needs time to adapt but really does need to work harder off the ball and win some duels. Pretty decent on the ball. It's early days with him and i'm sure he'll be fine. We need Kovacic and Cherki fit really to give us more options.

Early and fairly large shout but I think he will be up and down this season and then develop into one of the best players in the league next season. His ceiling is massive imo

I like him, think there’s good skill and work rate on show and we’re seeing him bed in. Theres room for improvement but we need to be patient
