11 | Jeremy Doku - 2025/26

Looks like he's really kicked on this season
Great to see.

This is the reason fans need to give Savinho a chance and have patience. Doku is a couple of years older than him and is only really just starting to look like a very good and consistent player rather than just a potentially very good player.

Obviously Doku has to keep it going. That's what separates top class players from the rest. It's up to him. He can be a real top tier player if he wants to keep working at it.

His brilliant play has made him an automatic first team starter. Exciting times for Doku who is still only 23 years old. You can sense the air of expectancy in the crowd when he runs at the full back and his final pass has improved massively. He is also fearless and doesn't care what player he is facing...apparently fullbacks are leaving spare underpants in the dressing room on hearing they will have to mark the Dok.

I was critical of Doku but maybe too overcritical. I think it was borne out of frustation, as you can see the unbelievable 1 vs 1 talent and you just wanted him to impact the game more.
He would flash in games but his decision making wasn't the best and he'd lose the ball in bad areas and I didn't think he had the spatial awareness and passing ability to pick out team mates in better positions.

I think his improvement is a function of his confidence and also teams improvement and adaptation that has led to his upturn in form. And I for one am glad he his proving me wrong

Stand up that man, at least you`ve got the balls to admit you could have got it wrong. He really is tearing these full backs a new arse hole. ;)

I think there's a lot of improvement to come as well. Certainly goal wise. He should be looking at min 10+ league goals a season
But his true ability to beat the defender both ways is priceless

Your thoughts were the same as mine about his ability to pick out that final pass. I am happy that he is proving me wrong.

One of the best wingers around. Wouldn't sell him for 100 million. Top level this lad. Tools have always been there to work with.

To say people wanted him sold. Clueless.
Hi Alicia

I think most on here said he needed to improve / develop his game. End product and scoring should be better.
He has done that this season and now playing at the highest level.
His confidence is sky high and may even improve more.
He is playing brilliantly for the international team too. Can only be good for us.

Glad to see everyone realise what others saw! He is currently our best and most creative player.

To add some reality, he has played around 100? games for us, and those who didn't or don't rate him, judged it on about 93 of those games. I wouldn't sell him, because off the bench he always caused 'panic' for the opposition (more so with what he 'might' do, than actually did do).....and yes, this season he has been great! ....but it's only 6 games (plus the Bournemouth home game, years ago!) Keeps it up over the season then yes and fair play to him....but he isn't suddenly the Belgian Messi after 6 performances.

Can’t think of another player who has Doku’s ability to get to the other side of a defender so quickly and in so many ways. It’s like a superpower.

The only one I can think of is sulemana from Atlanta. Funnily enough that both played for Rennes at the same time LW and RW. Hopefully the club keeps an eye on that guy too since he finally left Southampton
