The FOC thread.

I thought I did and got my brother to check but there wasn't one. I think, maybe, we were conflating these two ?

I remember them. The company that produced them was called ABC I think, and the cards came with a small sliver of bubble gum in the packet.

They were very popular at the school I attended and negotiations in the playground to obtain a card you were missing was the order of the day until the headmaster banned them for being too bloodthirsty.

I would have been 11/12 at the time
And I'm not a serial killer either - so that's at least two of us on Bluemoon. Clearly without casting aspersions I can't say the same for the rest of the nutters on here!
If anyone calls me a serial killer I will fuckin kill em. : )

Apparently, you need at least 3 victims to become a serial killer, so I'll still keep my distance, just in case you're already up to 2.

Who collected football cards? Piece of chewing gum in the pack. 1960's

Used to chuck them against a wall ...nearest won the cards on the floor.

Cherished the City ones.
I collected some in the 50s. The first one was Sam Bartram, Charlton keeper.
They came with bubble gum.
One Christmas Day the fixture against Chelsea was abandoned but nobody told poor Sam who stood guarding his goal after all the players and spectators had left.

No wonder the games were so high-scoring then - how many goals did they used to have around the pitch, exactly?
