hard one to define isnt it, world class goalscorer absolutely no doubt, world class footballer would be a diff question wouldnt it, all depends on your viewpoint id think.
He’s paid to score goals, and he’s definitely the best in the business at that, so therefore world-class..

And if his defending in the derby is anything to go by, he could soon be a world-class defender. A latter-day John Charles.

There has definitely been a great improvement in his all-round game this season.

Anybody name a manager in the world who would be capable of turning around the shit show ?
To be honest, I think someone like Southgate would be better suited to where they are. I think he would get a steady set of players playing in a steady way a bit like moyes at Everton.
With their resources they can add on cherry on top players to improve and challenge with maybe a manager with different ideas.
In the meantime they keep buying cherry on top players with no clear plan and it's working a treat for us.
I would worry if they got Southgate because I believe it would be the start of their recovery.

Problem with the rag scum is that they aren’t prepared to accept a few seasons of mediocrity whilst they rebuild……
Make the same mistakes and repeat ..

I’ve just watched Flog It and there was a group of Trafford memorabilia. Signed shirts, Robson, Cantona, Mark Hughes plus a full team one. Beckham’s signed Captain’s armband and other items signed prints etc. They went to the Auction and hardly any of them sold! There was little interest. The estimate was £600 to £800 for them overall. The two items that did sell both went on the Auctioneers discretion well under the price expected and they ended up with £250! The shirts didn’t sell at all except the one that the team had signed. Oh how the ‘mighty’ have fallen.

I shouldn’t laugh …. But I did! ;-)

I’d worry more if they appointed BFS. He would almost certainly keep them up.
Would be comedy gold if they did though.

Ancellotti? Guardiola? Slim pickings for sure!

Feel like they’ve bought very poorly and still don’t have the personnel. Maguire? Shaw? Casemiro? Mount? Bayindir? Dorgu? Yoro?

Too old, too young, too expensive…

I doubt that Phil has the hunger or confidence to be world class. I think he could be very very good but his potential doesn't scream out to me.
I would disagree he lives football and his performances this season has shown his desire he’s only 25 no where near his peak definitely he has the confidence the only thing that stops him is injury
Obviously it depends on definition of WC for me it means would a player get into the top five teams in the world? If Phil was put on the transfer list how many clubs would be in for him?

If Ferguson was brought from Aberdeen in 2025 he would struggle, footballers today are multi millionaires who don’t give a fuck for the manager they see them as temporary and they would stick his “hair dryer” up his arse
Exceptions apply of course
