26 | Savinho - 2025/26

Madness to offer him a 6 yr contract until he is performing to a consistant level week in week out .
Until that happens i wouldn't be upping his contract or wages .
Not madness at all. We bought him very cheap and the way the market is we'll easily get back what we've paid.

>> Savinho has created and assisted far more than Bobb.
Eye test says otherwise.

On a minutes played basis - who among the two has the most assists/goals/whatever good stat per minutes played keeping in mind bad stats... turn overs/bad passes into the box especially when open and so on?... for me, Bobb is the far better player.
Bobb hasn't proved anything to suggest he's a better player.

Both players are equally average.

People only side with Bobb because of the academy. How many teams have offered 70m for Bobb?

Bobb hasn't really had chance to prove it yet because of getting injured at the start of last year. He's shown enough, in glimpses, to suggest he deserves a chance. Judge him after a full season - like many are judging Savinho. He may turn out to be average, or he may prove he deserves his place.

Hence why I said he hasn't shown anything.

I'm not sure on Bobb tho tbf I think he lacks pace to be a top class winger. Hope I'm wrong.

I wouldn’t be surprised at all. At times he looked far better than Doku last season and when you look how he actually moves he is already top level. It’s just that stuff like yesterday where he goes past his player while running nowhere happens too often. Creation wise he is top 3 in Europe. At least he was last season again in terms of dribbles, passes and carry abilities. Also people saying he is slow is weird when he is actually faster than Doku.

If the assistant coach is the reason for Doku playing better than he should be able to do it for 2 year younger Savinho too, I personally think savinho and Doku both need more freedom to switch sides like they did at the start of last season.

People here turn their minds game after game anyways. Can’t make anyone happy. The spurs rumor turned him into the new mahrez. Same with Nunes if it’s a positive aspect no one will mention like going 3/3 at the start against his defender.
He will come good. This u6s why i said all summer that i wanted to see what our 3 young wingers had to offer, before running to the market.

He's certainly slower, but I'd say he's got a great appreciation of space than many, and can draw players in and then move on. I'd like to see it result in him having shots a bit more than it has so far, he does sometimes take a few too many touches, but hopefully that comes. He could be really useful against packed defences when out and out pace is less important - while Savinho may be more useful on the counter.

We don't need to constantly pick holes in our players.
Every player in our squad has serious talent but all will develop at different rates.
Having Oscar and Savinho competing for their place will be looked at very enviously by most of the footballing world. Soon, Ryan McAidoo will be added to that and he may be too much for either to handle. If Phil continues to play centrally, it may be Cherki who plays on the right...bloody hell, these are exciting times.

It is a forum, and we discuss football, I get that, but these guys are very, very young and nowhere near reaching their potential. Go easy on them and enjoy it - we have some of very best talents in world football.

Bobb isn't really a winger though. He was at his best for the academy in a more central attacking position.

I think he is a real talent, as is Savinho. Let's hope they can both develop their potential with us.

Correct. He is an inside forward really, but he can do a great job on the wing.

We'd easily get back what we've paid without giving him an increase, as he has a contract until 2029, plus any bidding club could, ostensibly, be happier to pay a higher fee as they aren't trying to match increased wages.

I like Savinho, think he has a high ceiling and think his first year was promising. However, rewarding him for having his head turned by Spurs is daft and isn’t something we need to do at the moment. We have already shown we believe in his ability by buying him and giving him game time - he needs to now build on that this season.

Bobb is far better than Savinho. We should have sold Savinho to Spurs.
I don’t know why people say this. Bobb has started just 12 senior football games at 22 years old… TWELVE!

There are two detailed documented seasons on Savinho from his time at Girona and City.

For a 20 year old last season, he actually had a good season considering it was his first at this level.

There’s no way we can say Oscar Bobb is better than that. I’m not saying he wouldn’t be if he’d played the same about of games but, from his 12 starts at 22 years old, we have no idea how good he is because there’s no evidence of anything.

He's done nothing yet to warrant a new deal .
He probably gets a good wage has it is .
When he has performed well for a season & moved up to the next level thats when he would deserve a new deal .

Is he ever gonna stop being a shitebag? Every counter attack, once a player breathes close to him he plays it quickly or checks back, as a winger that is useless. He's not slow like bernardo where he has 0 chance on pace. Just watch this lad on a counter, he is shitting himself even when a defender is 5 yards behind him
