You do know that Dyer could easily have been a foot behind and that photo would have looked just the same Stills and slow motion shouldn’t be allowed The criteria is clear and obvious how can stills and slow motion be used to determine that? Angles can be totally deceptive what can look close from one angle can be showed to be far away from others Dyer headed a ball that had gone and contacted Nico’s shin with this head not even hard enough to make him cry yet he did

Felt very 1 step forward 1 step back

Played some good stuff, made some great chances, had some good control, but also we're very weak on the counter, didnt supply Haaland enough, didnt kill the game off and then punished by a late goals

Ref was wank but you gave them the option, we all know European refs are weak, put the game out of sight and take it out of their hands

Worries about Pep's subs, they seem to completely backfire

Going forward, City are a danger to anybody in Europe, but when City are defending, its a hard watch.
We need to tighten up at the back and stop looking like rabbits in headlights, because when the bigger games with world-class players start to come around we will get found wanting

Early doors and nobody is going to win the Champions League or get knocked out just yet, City will grow and learn lessons and from what we watched last season, the new format in the Champions League is still bedding in and it needs time to learn what is needed from the 8 games to get into the knockouts,

One big thing from tonight is that we didn't lose. Win your home games and don't lose away, we will be in a great place

He's nowhere near good enough
And if anyone wants to defend him, all I ask is tell me a couple of games he's played really well in

I seen a post earlier that said the more we see of Savinho the more the rejection of the £70m bid looks stupid. I’ve got to say the more time goes on the more I’m inclined to agree. With a fully fit squad I’d rather have seen Marmoush, Cherki and Bobb have come onto that pitch before him. He wasn’t necessarily bad when he came on but then again he wasn’t good. Just a complete passenger

This is where a Rayan Cherki will help - Erling has plenty of pace but as an example I can't remember a single pass to him tonight from Bernie or any of the centre midfielders - we need players capable of playing the unexpected pass. Doku also has pace over the first ten yards but again we got the ball to him when he had 2 men on - going forward to win this competition we need to release our forward players quicker. Once again it was all too slow. Get that right and we would batter this type of side.

We're not at the level of Barca, PSG, Real Madrid, Bayern any more.

We need to improve our playing squad by whatever means possible and it won't be a flick of a switch.

A lot of our fans are really stupid. This is an elite competition and we are not an elite side any more but we can be again. There are already signs this season that we are improving. That's all we need to see to remain patient.

I wouldn't put too much hope in Cherki. He'll most likely need time to adapt. It's possible he might start on the right.

I know everyone is angry, but…

We played well, controlled the game for the most part, rattled the woodwork twice, but are always susceptible to the fast break.

Moved the ball well, played at speed, but do not create nearly enough goalmouth chances for the level of possession and dominance.

Thought there were multiple excellent performances, but just couldn’t get that 3rd goal.

Players will be livid with the ref, and rightly so. Made it clear early on that he would be suckered by the kind of flopping he sees day in, day out in LaLiga, and in the end it decided the result.

Dier put his head down, Nico got the ball with the meat of his foot (no studs up), Dier didn’t get there, and then went down in stages to try to con the ref…and succeeded.

We have some shit refs in the PL, but there are some seriously shit refs in Europe and UEFA seems to love ‘em. Can’t touch a player without him flipping and refs fall for it every time!

Pissed off at the result, disappointed we couldn’t put the game to bed YET AGAIN, and the late twist against us is getting very, very old!

Donna saved us with the shot between O’Reilly’s legs, but powerless with the goals.

Stones doesn’t look fit, or has lost a step or three of pace. A presence on the ball but a liability on the ball in behind.
Hope Rodri is OK and just being managed.

Reijnders is an almost superstar, but…

Foden played very well without hitting the heights. Very unlucky with the shot against the underside of the bar.

Haaland scored two good goals, but should have scored that parry, too. Otherwise, anonymous.

Bernardo is excellent at keeping possession, but an anchor on the right wing, because he’s not kidding anyone that he’s going anywhere except backwards.

Doku bang average tonight, but doubled up constantly.

Nunes looks to have RB gig until Khusanov returns or Stones gets fit.
Nico did well again when he came on, even though people are split on the challenge. Rash in last minute, but Ref choked.
Savinho is kidding himself, but no-one else.

I am not angry. As I was watching that game, I knew that Monaco would very likely equalise.

We are short of where we want to be but at the same time last season we were conceding 4 to Sporting away from home. I don't see that happening this season. We are a work in progress with shortcomings. The shortcomings will get dealt with.

On the Ait Nouri vs O’Riley pace I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree. As for Gvardiol, I don’t know what you’re expecting in terms of pace from a CB. I’d argue he’s as quick as Akanji or Ake who were our quickest CB’s of recent times. He’s quicker than Stones or Dias who both have been quality defenders for us in this system.

There’s only Bernado slower than Dias and there are 40 year olds who could out run Bernie now. Not a chance he’s quicker than Akanji. Ake yes as he’s also slow these days and wasn’t pacey to start with. We lack pace at centre half unless it’s Khusanov is all i’m truro say.

In the past we had a much better and more dominant midfield so that helped a lot.

Most rules are subjective not objective, so yes, that’s always been the case.

Doesn’t even matter on geographical, look how differently a league two game is refereed vs a PL one.

The endangering an opponent element is being brushed aside by them.

Nico raising his boot above chest height in the near vicinity of an opponent is endangering their safety.

The ref had no choice once he saw the VAR replay.

Need a very good summer window, academy wont gives us ready made players unless it produces a once in a generation talent like Yamal. Current team just isn't good enough to be at the very top again

Everyone knows they give penalties for next to nothing in Europe and for ball touches hand it’s absolutely ridiculous. Yep, though on the wider point, if one of our players gets turned who in our team has the necessary pace to deal with that/retrieve the situation?

Thinking of all our midfielders and defenders, Khus is quick. If I make an alternative list of all our players who look sluggish speed-wise, there seem to be a few more names on it though.

What was amazing about the decision is that Pep must have known that at 2-1 they were going to throw the proverbial at us and it would be back to the walls time. So to bring Savinho on who cannot defend or track back defied belief

You put your foot that high in the penalty area in a European competition and its a penalty its that simple. Especially As when you are the away team 2-1 up. soon as I saw the replay I knew it would be given, braindead sometimes footballers.
