Nottingham Forest Thread | 2025/26 | Dyche appointed as manager

Sacked and fully paid up for a three year contract or whatever it is at £8m a season = £24m for managing six games of football. You have lost all six.
If I was Marinakis I’d be extremely worried.

Nightmare decision from that arrogant owner. Nuno was perfect for them - same way he’ll be fantastic for West Ham and was for Wolves. He excels at clubs with lowish expectations and brings their level up massively.

Ange isn’t a long-term manager unfortunately. He comes in and it’s like a whirlwind at first then drops off like at Spurs. Issue is, he’s come in and it’s been shit and he’s too stubborn to change it around.

He’ll be gone by the end of October and the owner will be gutted Nuno isn’t available.

What's that saying; play stupid games, win stupid prizes. Nuno got them within a whisker of the Champions League last season. Now? They're 1 point above the relegation zone, albeit it's very early in the season.

Yep. I’m surprised his ego didn’t go for Mourinho. Or it did and he turned them down to go home.

To be fair the spat between the manager and the owner at forest wasn't going to end well. what I find incredible is that they hired the professional whinger and expected anything other than him being a professional whinger with a propensity for failure.

To be fair it's going to need a big turnaround to actually get them playing football again from the shite they played under Nuno. Of course it worked for them and it was a ridiculous decision to sack him but it's a huge challenge to completely change the way they play. One of my good mates is a season ticket holder at Forest and I think their ire is more at the owner, not Ange.

The evidence from Ange's time at Spurs is that he'll fail to get them playing good football so the appointment was absolutely ridiculous. They've got a squad of players that were comfortable and successful under Nuno and what they'll see under Ange is an attempt to become more focussed on possession but a failure to win games as a result. With Spurs he stuck to his principles and failed, and then had this pragmatic dull football they played in Europe which brought them success. He'll be sacked by the end of the month.

Chris Wilder might be again, though.

Postacoglu’s only win in his last 10 games was against Ruben Amorim.
And although funny as fuck for us, he was incredibly lucky to win that game.
He still harks on about winning the trophy but any PL team, at a bare minimum should get to the final of the Europa or Conference finals

He should never have left Celtic. But I suppose the salary at Spurs was way above what he was on at Parkhead.
Plus, he wanted a crack at the Prem, can't blame him. He did well at us because he recruited well and we had players who suited his style, already there. His signings were great too. The problem is he needs time and as we all know, you don't get that.

We had a ropey start with us, but, he got away with it, because we could see what he was trying to do and the football was fast and great to watch. It came good. If Rogers does leave us, I would love him to come back. Its this attitude in the Prem and up here at Rangers, they want to be great from the off. If a manager gets replaced, its usually because the team aren't performing, so they get into the Messiah mindset. Ask No 8 about that. No time given, Van Brokhurst suffered due to this. One of their best mistakes witb the fans getting him sacked too.

Every guy who isnt washed up, like Dykes and Slippy, will look at Rangers squad and how their fan's are and say, fuck that. For me it has to be someone who gas fuck all to lose and being paid for 3 years after being sacked after 18 months is fine.

Muscat is somewhere far away, so he would do it. For others, it would be a huge career risk. On the bright side, RM gets paid off, what he was after. He wasn't going to walk with a few million with his name on it lying there. Who would? The chances of him getting another job after this is slim, so he needed those extra £3 million to keep the wolves from his door, not the wanderers.

The Banter years just keep going.
