Yep, current one is rooted in the failure to control amongst others Purdu and specifically OxyContin. Amongst other things, the fentanyl crisis is a poster child for the failure/limitations of free market economics.

Here's one. He is doing what he said he would. And some more besides. How is that?

This is just the Brexit thread for the US. "Woe is me"ing and blaming the people who voted for Brexit/ Trump instead of pointing the finger at generations of hopeless politicians that haven't taken into account the concerns of a large proportion of the electorate. Brexit was Cameron's (and pretty much all PMs since the 1970s') fault. Trump is the Democrats' (and pretty much all Republicans over the same periods') fault.

Oh, and here is another one. He is a street fighter. It's not his fault if the constitution is paper-thin weak. Built on trust, my arse. No-one trusts any politicians.

I've got nothing else, though. I have thought he was a complete **** since the 1980s.

And then there's his partnership in the decimation of Palestine and his real estate claims
Plus he's assassinating/executing supposed drug runners in international waters

but he did stop the russia/ukraine war after 24 hours as he repeatedly said he would.

5 people nominated by the Norwegian parliament, they typically do a stint for a number of years so I assume some of them will be same as last time?

Don't think there's any evidence that direct bribery plays a part but political pressure must do, given some of the more dubious winners.

Fine line to walk I suppose, acquiesce too far and you destroy the credibility of the award. Think that ship has already sailed for many people, but if they choose Trump it'll probably destroy whatever credibility is left.

I'm not sure it's lost any credibility. Can't say I've ever looked down the list but it's a significant accolade in my book.

Yeah maybe I went a bit too far re credibility though it's definitely had it's wobbles. Kissinger was a very controversial one and sometimes you can't predict future behaviour/issues like Aung San Suu Kyi and the Ethiopian PM whose name I can't think of.
 
It's all a bit maga in here with the hatred and death wishes. I'm not a Trump fan myself but understanding why he is there, popular, getting a 2nd term is totally ignored. Much like the voters who voted for him imo.

But I hope the Democrats have someone better than what they've offered over the last 10 years or so.
