Our mate, a lifelong ST holder, never misses a home or away move to Hamble a few years ago.
He was supposed to meet us at Brentford but didn't show.
We had been unable to contact him the week before which was strange but decided to leave it till Sunday.
We have checked Hospitals and been onto the Police and we are still waiting despite repeated calls for them to come back.
I am looking for someone in the Hamble area who could possibly go round and check at his House.
Any help would be appreciated.
Many thanks.

Long time lurker, this is 5 minutes from me and happy to help if you want to shoot me a message

Hi everyone. Late to this thread as Bowers Sfc Has made contact with me, for anyone that knows the chap in question, (and I will only use his initials of PB so we know who we are talking about) Unfortunately our worst fears came true on Sunday. The police were involved and he hadnt suffered. That’s all I can say for now. And my wife and I are absolutely devastated. I won’t go into more detail but anyone who knows him can contact me. I am literally his next door neighbour in the village of Hamble. He was super delighted 15 years ago when he moved there to find me living next door as the previous owners had told him the guy next door is from Manchester and P automatically assumed I was a red!. Well I’m not. And our friendship kicked off from there. I know him probably less than those who sit with him at home games etc but suffice to say, we did lots of drinking pints of “Proper Job” and “Tribute” and laughing and crying over results together. We sat together and watched the whole UCL final and cried after that. P was speechless that night and just shook his head and said “I never imagined I would see this”
We would like to make contact with anyone who sat with him as we feel the connection between us and him and his friends in Stockport has been severed. Some of you will know me from when you came to stay at his house for away games down at St Mary’s and we met for a drink before the game. And some of the Winchester A34 guys who work at NATS Swanwick will know me too.
Take care guys. And RIP to the most loyal and biggest Blue I have ever known.

I was posting my message when Wilmslow Rd posted. My wife and I specifically told the police to contact David and pass on my number so we can share info. They wouldn’t give me David’s number (obviously) but I was happy to pass mine on. Can anyone make David or anyone else who was good friends with Phil, aware of this post and make contact with me via PM and we will take it from there. Happy to pass on my number personally to anyone who wants to find out more, but just not on here.
Thanks.

So sorry to hear the outcome, rest in peace Phil, a fellow Blue.
I feared the worst when I saw the post. If somebody suddenly stops responding to calls or messages and it's out of character it's not normally a positive ending. The same thing happened to my cousin in March, only 59. He didn't answer messages from his sister for two days and the police found him as she was on holiday and couldn't go around herself. The police appeared reluctant to go and check in my cousin's case, I'm not sure if this is normal?
Again so sorry the outcome wasn't a good one.

Thanks for the kind words, but honestly I didn’t think twice once I had seen.

After speaking with Chris and Tobin, it’s clear what a loyal fan and guy Phil was.

A really sad outcome, and I do feel gutted that I had to share that bad news with his friend.

Football is one thing that connects us all in some way.

Maybe someone can change the thread title?
