Private number plates

Of course nobody on here goes round with their name on their City shirt.....

.....do they?

My family got me a home shirt a couple of seasons ago for my birthday with my surname on it and my age - God bless them they meant well, so I watch telly in it, and leave the house in away shirts.

I do feel bad about it 'tho.

I agree. If it's a tasteful one, then when you have a car that doesn't change body style every couple of months, a private plate disguises the true age of the car to all but the most knowledgeable. Mine is one of the old style 'P' reg plates with my initials on the end and whilst it's obvious that it's not a 17 year old car, it could be anything from 7 years to 6 weeks old as the current model shape was first released in 2006.

personalised reg / tasteful - oxymoron. And if you think a private plate hides the true age of a car to all but your average car mechanic then you're clearly as deluded as everyone else driving round with the ultimate "Look at me. Prize twat" symbol.

Why the fuck would you think anybody has the slightest interest in knowing your name as you drive past in your 2003/4/5/6/7//8 - please tell us we can't guess what year titmobile?

Go. And. Read. A Book. Broaden. Your. Horizons.

I can think of about 5 people I know with personalised plates.

4 of them are twats.

And the other's a CUN7

You really are an angry, jealous little man aren't you?

You might not be seen as such a cock if you accepted that other people are allowed their own opinions and have their own reasons for doing you things you might not agree with.

Or you might just be a twat?

Angry? Jealous? Yep, I lie awake, filled with a vituperative rage knowing I'll never own something so absolutely spiffin' as a personalised reg. My envy is immeasurable - if only I too could be as succinct, subtle and brilliant of mind as those who hilariously manage to turn numbers into letters.

Yes, folk are allowed to have their opinions - never said anything to the contrary. But equally, I'm allowed my opinion. And my opinion is that personalised reg plates say one thing: Look. At. Me. Prize. P1UM.

I think it's supposed to read as Haj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca.

Do you happen to drive a very very nice black car ?

Slightly related, where I live we are not connected to the mains sewerage and a contractor comes and empties the sewage storage tank, that serves several houses, with a tractor towing a tanker, twice a week. On the back of the slurry tanker as it passed the bottom of the drive I noticed the tractor driver as he was waiting for it to fill up, had written POSH PISS. It was literally a great example of ….taking the piss.
