President Trump

Must make Americans so proud. Military using food banks whilst National Guard being deployed to do their jobs - the Guard will be deployed for one day less than is required to pay them because then they will be recalled.
What, so no public people are being paid during the stalemate, even those that are protecting their country?

Sounds absolutely barking!

I’d venture the vast majority of Americans are far from proud of this asshole, but their decision was made much, much easier by the Dems anointing Harris rather than having a Contested Convention and literally letting democracy have a voice.

If Biden had really wanted to cement his name in history, in a positive way, he should have stepped aside, let her become both the first woman and the first woman of color (Jamaican-Indian) to become President, and allow her some runway as an incumbent!

He didn’t and we all have been forced to pay the price.

Well-intentioned Democrats ruin lives every day, but most recently Biden & RBG have soiled their legacies by not listening to the closing credits and wanting to stay on stage long after the Klieg lights should have been turned off! Their personal desires to put themselves ahead of their duty have ended up costing America dearly.

Ta, mate. Thought it had to be. Although, I still find it difficult to understand how others aren’t being paid, with some of those critical workers having to work as well.
That’s the system, but it’s broken, like most things over here these days!

To be more complete…

For military members to be paid on the next scheduled payday, October 15, Congress must pass appropriations legislation by October 13 to process the payments on time.

If the shutdown continues past this deadline, around 1.3 million active-duty military members, along with hundreds of thousands of National Guard personnel and civilian Department of Defense employees, will not be paid until the government reopens and funding is restored. Once the shutdown ends, service members are expected to receive back pay for the period they worked without pay.

There is legislation proposed, such as the Pay Our Troops Act, aimed at guaranteeing military pay during shutdowns, but it has not been passed before the current shutdown.

It’s fucking mental that the largest economy and government in the world operates this way, but here we sit!

That is barmy and near 3rd world shit.

That’s why we’re now seeing both parties blaming the other for not coming to an agreement.

Anybody seeing a certain degree of analogy between this and the absolute hissy fit that Real threw when Vinicius didn't get the prize that they'd all decided in advance was going to him?
Fair enough.
I'm also waiting for DT to declare "NOT IN MY LIFETIME" (which was also said by someone in football) but wonder whether he'll say it in relation to
a. a woman president
b. release of the Epstein files
c. Melania joining him in bed again

Get with the correct terminology. It's not a prisoner exchange. It's Israeli hostages cruelly detained (1) and Palestinians merely under administrative detention (2). https://www.btselem.org/administrative_detention

(1) true
(2) false description of crimes against humanity
28 of the hostages are dead bodies.
And are none of the 2000 Palestinians convicted?
I thought some were, but don’t know the split.
