Middle East Conflict | Netanyahu orders strikes on Gaza (p1161)

Not a speech preaching peace.

This is like City being battered 10-0 at Klanfield and Slot doing a victory lap thanking PiGMOL for allowing 7 offside goals and sending off 3 of our players.

None of it matters. As always, the only important thing is what happens on the ground. And I am not very hopeful. Not one of these bastards is sincere enough to be trusted with anything.

One if the things that I find really difficult about debate on Israel/Palestine is that so many insist that it's good against evil, right against wrong.

I tend to switch off when I hear people that cant recognise that there's fault on both sides, there's legitimate grievances on both sides.

I'm not sure painting Israel as peace lovers celebrating life and Palestinians as violent people glorifying death is going to wash with too many given what's gone on over the past year.

Surely the penny must drop with both sets of people that this is going nowhere but the total destruction of one or the other (or both). The first step is obviously just fucking recognising the right of the other to actually exist.
It is, and there has to be a start.

In my line of work there’s never a 100% solution and sometimes a 70% has to do. That means that things will probably happen as we move through but then things are put in place to mitigate that risk.

I think that’s where we are.

Previously in these terms on this thread, when comparing this situation with Russia/Ukraine which is a much more binary struggle of good against evil.

Breakdown of Bibi's speech.

"I'm amazing. Trump is amazing. Israel is amazing. Quotes Bible/Torah. Sympathy for our victims. Hamas, Iran and Palestinians are vermin"

The language of a leader still at war.
Had to turn it off as they were just more propaganda speeches, the continuation of the PR battle that they’ve been waging for years, and upped recently to coincide with the waste they’ve left in Gaza.

All the living Israeli hostages released bringing joy to their families and 2 thousand Palestinian hostages held without trial released we won’t get to see their families joyous reunions
Lest we forget the aim of the invasion was to get rid of Hamas 30 thousand have been killed.
I’m avoiding the news red carpet treatment for Trump when it’s American tax dollars that bombed innocent civilians over 60 thousand of them.

I do wonder if Hamas was threatened with US military intervention alongside new pressure from the mediating Arab states as the attacks in Doha really seemed to change things. I suppose you have to remember that the leadership of Hamas has been completely obliterated.

The same happened with Hezbollah and the same with Iran who have all been gutted and their response has really waned into nothing within the last couple of months. The 'resistance' has basically fallen apart.

This does not change a thing for the Palestinians but it certainly seems to be game-over for Hamas.

It's a start, been far too many lives lost, can't imagine the pain and suffering of all those affected, I just hope they keep that fucker Blair away from the process of rebuilding.
Blair and a few others trying to westernise Palestinians in Gaza, from the comfort of Trumps promised Trump Towers on the Gaza Strip or Sharm el Sheik, Starmer part of the show. It will be historic if they lift the blockade and open the crossings tear down the prison walls.

Not really kept up to date fully with what's going on but don't understand why Starmer or other EU leaders are there. Looks rather degrading.
They look bored as they witness Trump trying to wring the last morsel of publicity out of the agreement that will probably last a few days at best. The IDF already firing warning shots at young lads approaching the agreed line

The head of FiFA is stood on the podium for a photo call
