Just Never Gets Old...

Of all the matches I've been present for at Maine Road and Etihad, this one is the one above all others that I would hate to have missed. And I’m sure that applies to many of us.

The 3-2 against Villa was special, but the comeback was nowhere near as late in the game as this one.

Mayhem ensued throughout the stadium and the release of joy and relief was almost palpable.

For all his faults, Tyler was right, when he said that we'll never see anything like that again.

I had attended a fair number of matches at the Etihad that season but couldn't get a ticket for the QPR match. I was alone in the house in Edinburgh watching on TV. My youngest daughter was away at University, my eldest and my son were working.

I was initially quite confident about the match especially after the Zabaleta goal. I was less so after the two QPR goals but still thought that City would win. Then the Joey Barton incident and the clock wound down. I was getting very worried and had a sickly feeling as the match moved into added time.

Then Dzeko scored followed shorty by the news that United had won. By then QPR appeared to have given up and conceded possession easily but I was still panicking until Aguero scored and even after that until the final whistle was blown.

Meanwhile my son was duty manager in an Edinburgh pub that was not screening the match. He decided that he needed to do some 'work' on the books and fired up a stream of the match on the office PC.

There will never be a season ending like that again. Even the late win against Villa from 2-0 down was not as dramatic as Liverpool's winning goal did not come until after City had gone 3-2 ahead.

It still brings a tear to my eye. What unique joy. When I watch it now, it is in the knowledge of what has followed in the subsequent years. Sometimes I go a whole week without watching the last five minutes again.

See and this is why the 115 , the cartel, masters and his cronies can get to fuck because whatever they chuck at us, whatever bullshit the media dream up, whatever crap flies on social media nothing can and nothing will ever take away memories like that.

I was at the game but heard about the local conservative club showing the game. One room showing us the other showing them.
Rag game finishes so their conga starts and is halfway through the City room on 93:20. Kinda wish I'd missed the game and been at the Conny club now.
While I was at the Arsenal 1-0 my missus was in town that afternoon and she was sickened to see Rags doing the conga around the Sawyers and up and down Deansgate ironically they too had just beat QPR pmfsl

Still annoys me a bit that of the 3 goals we scored, I only celebrated zabba's.
I was fuming when dzeko scored because i thought it was too little too late and we could have still won it if the players had pushed more a little earlier. Then when aguero scored I was too emotional and in too much shock so I just fell to the floor crying.

Still, better than my mate who left on 88 minutes and was outside for the last 2 goals. He managed to climb back over a turnstile in a different stand and tier for the trophy lift.
