"Now, as confirmed by those within the club this week, Manchester City are set to open a brand new club shop within the Trafford Centre, adding to their existing locations in the Manchester Arndale centre, outside of the Etihad Stadium, and further afield in Dubai and Abu Dhabi."

I don't know what the source for this information is. Apologies if this story has been run before but it is news to me.

It would suggest that the existing retail operations are working well. City will also be opening a new Club shop in the new stand to replace the temporary City store at the ground.

I don't know. I think it used to be offices. City are building office space in the new stand though so I don't know where they will want to put their own staff. It's at a convenient location for fans walking into the stadium so it might suit some kind of fan contact operation.
