Adam Wharton

The good thing about the timing of Wharton becoming a good player is that Liverpool already have Gravenberch who’s only 23, Arsenal already have Zubimendi who’s 26 and Chelsea already have Caceido who’s only 23. They’re all set up for years in this position.

Whereäs, Rodri is 29 and there’s no guarantee that he’ll ever again reach the levels he did before his injury (as sad as that would be).

Since when has already having top players stopped any club stockpiling?

Bernardo and kovacic will be gone as well in the summer

We’ve no chance of getting the price down because every elite team will be banging on palace’s door, this kid is special & destined for the very top, hopefully whilst wearing a city shirt
The kid isn't that special. David Silva didn't cost that much and was twice the player

The difference is that Bellingham never played in the Premiership whereas Wharton has and has proved himself. Bellingham went off to Germany from Birmingham as we know it isn't too difficult to shine in that League eg Sancho
Not that proven. Borussia Dortmund are well ahead of Crystal Palace in club status. Bundesliga isn't a weak league either. Perhaps if he was still at Blackburn then take the gamble but nothing does suggest he is that special.

You can't say that, I dislike Bellingham, but at Wharton's age he was an England international, scoring goals in the Champions League for Dortmund and then played for the biggest club in world football and won a Champions League. Wharton is a fantastic player, but he's nowhere near that level yet. He plays for a mid table Premier League Club with no aspirations of winning league titles.

Not in David Silva's league.

I like the idea of recruiting the best of English talent if they are of the standard required. Wharton, Anderson and Livramento resolve some real issues we will have at 2,6 and 8. Expensice but so what, good players are expensive

Overpriced and not better than we have currently have on the books. He isn't better than Kalvin Phillips who was highly recommended either. Same with Livarmento who is currently out with a serious knee injury.

Player quality. Wharton isn't in that class. A more expensive version of Kalvin Phillips.
You really have the wrong end of the stick, Wharton/ Anderson will not be bought to be another Silva. Regarding a more expensive version of Phillips, yes he will be more expensive but his abilities as a footballer from passing, close control, reading of the game, endurance and attitude is already at a very high standard

How was Jonny Boulders's injury record before he came here? Any concerns we (as fans) may have about how we (the club) view Wharton's injury record may be a null point considering we went ahead with JB and it's been one of the most successful transfers in recent history.

I am more interested in players who actually can really improve upon the current set.

Much better at Everton and who wasn't completely overpriced.

Yep. I still think the dippers will dip their toe into it, though. I'd hope that Pep would be the turning point in his head if that happened.

Wharton took the piss out of us for about 20 minutes at our place last season before Kev put his big-boy pants on and won us the game.

Hope to fuck we make a move.
