I tend to do the same, the exception is if there's going to be a price rise or price drop which would price me out of the move, or a planned future move.

Yep true but it’s always like 0.1 or 0.2% really, unlikely to make much a difference. Rather that than submitting a team and transfers way in advance and seeing injuries pick up.
 
I wonder how many believed Maresca when he said he hoped Palmer would be back after this international break, and took a chance on bringing him back into the fold? Out until december is the latest update now.

Not many, hes only been transferred in to 11713 teams

I wonder how many didn't learn after the first two weeks of this season, which was a "fool me twice" moment for me if you count the whole 2nd half of the last season? I didn't hold him the whole time back then in early 2025, but it was long enough for too long.

For Cole Palmer's sake, I hope he gets better soon.

For my FPL team, it is going to take some serious serious returns before I am ever tempted to go back to that well again.

I haven't had him in my team since the middle of last season, I think. Saka, Bergvall, Caicedo and Semenyo as my midfield unit, with Kudus on the bench.

Caicedo is on the bench, hopefully he'll stay there for you and not come on for 15 minutes and 1 point. Enzo not in the squad either, that will burn a few.
