Will we win the league this season?

Nico is really coming on strong, I thought he stood out yesterday. But Rodri is on another level, to most other players anywhere, when fully fit. The stats you quote are interesting. We are, objectively, better than we sometimes seem.
 
I would like to think most of us (not you doom mongers and naysayers, you know who you are!) thought with the upheaval of Guardiola shifting directions in both backroom and players, that the losses (and draws) we've had, this season, was down to teething issues as our new players, system and methodology took place.

Me, myself? I thought I could see this from the off as our players have settled in (hence why I did my Foden thread noticing his contributions more than before). On other YT rivalry channels, a few weeks back, I noted the reasons why we've had an iffy start in having less possession for quicker attacks.

This video echoes my thoughts from earlier, but they've only just picked up on it.

I thought it was good anyway...

So there's definitely a lot more to come and we look like we have that versatility and ability to win in different ways which, looking at Arsenal, they aren't currently capable of.

The second half was great. I thought Everton defended well but at the end we wore them down. Bobb is great at keeping possession. The subs were great yesterday.

It is probably better watching the games than Youtube to make a better assessment, and not have to be told what to think. The 3 wins in a row is good, but 3 expected wins and the claims about the opposition being terrified now is a bit silly.
 
Still too many individual errors and Everton missed a similar chance to Tottenham's first goal.

We've also got too many players who aren't natural goalscorers and ultimately everything will depend on Haaland staying fit.

However yesterday was the first game in a long while where the substitutions didn't seem to weaken us, and if anything, we seemed more in control.

Agree Rodri is another level but with Nico and us playing slightly different a bit less reliant on the 6, we can manage more games using him sparingly for now at least.
For the games coming up that could just be Newcastle , liverpool Dortmund.
Yes , we are probably comparing ourselves with the treble 100 point teams we are off that but still a very good team.

It's the big difference isn't it. He just finds space and systems that give an extra squeeze of juice in the spring, very excited to see what it is this year given the ingredients he's got to play with. Maybe freeing up Doku somehow. With this squad playing like we played yesterday you'd win a league or two, but the total domination over the last decade is him just finding something extra. Even last year's poor showing I think any other manager, even Klopp, would have comfortably finished outside of the CL places if not for they stodgy Unc rectangle.

Indeed it's better to watch all the games... for City fans/ footballing enthusiasts.

But YT isn't best designed for following all the games min to min for non-City fans, in this case. The video is looking at an overview condensing everything to this point (which, I think, is fair enough) so it can examine the potential phoenix rising of the club again, much to other rivals chagrin when they (& some of our own fans), quickly wrote us off.

I agree, very sloppy at times, particularly in the first half and gave away possession under no pressure too often. A hard working but limited Everton created three good chances which is also a worry.
Second half was better but Haaland aside where are the goals going to come from? The rest of the team couldn't hit a barn door at the momen, especially our wingers.
Three good wins and Liverpool dropping points has got us in a better position than anybody envisaged after our poor start, but two were Burnley and Everton at home, with only Brentford away the tricky fixture.
Still we are looking better and once our injuries clear up we will see how we shape up.
 
There are too many variables this early in the season to predict who'll win the league. Can we win the league this season based on the current form of potential challengers? Based on such fine margins, absolutely.

The move that summed it up for me was when Haaland powered through the middle before squaring for Reijnders who immediately passed to Doku and a predictable side foot and easy save for Pickford
I'm not convinced that it's something that can be taught as you're either desperate to score or you're not.
However Reijnders should have been more assertive and put his foot through the ball. He might not have scored but Pickford would have been as equally unsighted as he was for Haaland's second goal.

Yes. I can see why he made the pass to Doku, but actually his position was slightly worse making cutting down the angle easier for Pickford. Doku's finish was terrible.

At this stage of his career Bernie is perfect coming on as a sub. Bobb is clever at keeping the ball. It was nice to see such control at 2-0 to see the game out. I think Foden and Marmoush will provide goals if needed.

Strongly agree with your point re the subs. Bernardo and Bobb gave us very good control. Our bench was very strong.
 
At the start of the season when we lost our opening games, Pep was fronting up in press conferences saying he was happy with what he had seen in training at the CWC and in for the PL, and I wondered whether it was just bravado. It wasn't.

I am not sure whether we will develop fast enough to challenge Arsenal this season but I am very confident that City are on the up and that we are re-building a new side. Something good is happening under our noses and it is a pleasure again to watch and follow City.

The game against Everton wasn't all good. We could have been down at half-time but we came good in the end. Well done to Foden who by the end of that game was spraying the ball around with real authority.

I think after Christmas will be when we see the new system flowing. I am very optimistic about both Nicos, Cherki, peak Foden and Haaland. Donnarumma has transformed the defence. Arsenal was our best defensive display for years. Can’t wait to see Pep weave his magic again.
 
It’s mad to think if Arsenal didn’t get that last minute equaliser at the Emirates we would be top now after a shaky opening 8 games.

I think we are going to get better, I’m not sure the gunners will. 4-1 for city to win the league? Good odds if I was a betting man.
