Paul Merson: "City are not a top team"

Has Merson considered City's potential with a fit Rodri?

Then we would have the world's best keeper, the world's best midfielder, and the world's best striker.

Merson: "If you take away Donnarumma, Rodri and Haaland, Manchester City would not be a top 4 side".
 
Also there was a degenerate fucking drunk who also made the assertions that we were noisy neighbours and would never surpass the rags in his lifetime and i think we all know how that worked out, so the lesson is never listen to the opinions of degenerate fucking drunks.

He delayed my flight once, as he was in first class and hadn’t turned up so us plebs couldn’t board. I wondered why they were waiting for this “Mr Merson” and not just flying without him (after 3 tannoy calls). I think I joked if it was who I thought it was just go look in the bar and sure enough he eventually rocks up with his family all dressed up to the nines.

A fair point.
They are not allowed to comment on how spectacularly "Magic Mo" has had a massive drop off in form, including not scoring.
Also the poor performances of Isak & Wirtz, plus the extortionate fees paid, are not being widely discussed.
That leaves Harland (sometimes portrayed as a freak of nature ?), to be the main topic...

Imo, he really believes what he says. He's a bit thick, though. So, I find his waffling funny rather than annoying.

Many don't want to see City winning the league again. They convince themselves that City lack the quality to do it. They ignore the huge potential of the team, and also that Pep is Pep.
 
I think he genuinely fkd up when referring to KdB years ago. Now he's just taking the pi55 and even fans of other clubs ridicule him.

Best to ignore him really.

Exactly what I was going to write.

He doesn't care if you think he's a coke head or a complete idiot. He just wants a reaction. That's what he's paid for.

And everyone here and social media is giving him and sky exactly what they want.
 
There are only 2 teams in World football ahead of us today, Arsenal and PSG.

If we are not a “top team” whatever that means, then that leaves a maximum of only two teams that can be “top” and a minimum of none.

I would say I’m interested in his definition but that’s not true.

I'm not interested in his ipinion whatsoever. I don't know why we have a whole thread dedicated to this one statement.

There's a media thread where it can go with all the other nonceness.
