Few players are guaranteed to start that game: Donna, Dias, Foden and Haaland. Gonzalez, if fit enough.

Nunes 95%, O'Reilly 90%.

Normally, Gvardiol would be 100%, but he isn't at his best yet, so it's between him and Stones, unless Gvardiol starts at LB.

Players who are likely to start: Reijnders and Savinho. Think Doku isn't as fresh as he was before the international break and may be on the bench. Bobb to start on the right with Savinho on the left?

Nico is probably out, so no Kovacic as a lone def. midfielder and similiar nonsense

OReilly - Bernardo( Rejinders)

What is the record?

EDIT* The record for him is 11 games, Messi holds the record of 21 games according to Google.
From transfrmarket
Lionel Messi famously scored in 21 consecutive LaLiga games but his longest scoring run across all competitions stands at 10 games, which he reached twice while at Barcelona.

Most people are omitting Savinho even though he was our best player on Wed and good against Everton. Smacks a bit of mass bias. Pep clearly likes him - he is a certain starter IMO. Doku is the one who needs a rest - not so hot of late. Start Marmoush on the left and bring on Doku when they are tiring

On a bit of a roll now and they seem to have found a bit of form.

Although we couldn't get a third last night we're moving towards 'proper City's and are already 9 unbeaten in all comps in almost a blink of an eye.

Can't see anything other than 3 points for us.
We need to learn to keep playing for 90 minutes though, and in too many games we don't, as we saw at Villarrael the other night .... if that late effort of theirs had of gone in, instead of coming back off the post, we would really have been 'under the cosh' towards the end of the game.

Well, some were writing Savinho off a week ago. Changing your opinion takes time.

Nobody can be sure that Savinho will become a world-class winger, but that he is highly talented must be obvious at this point. If Pep gives him consecutive starts it's because he plays well.

A recurring theme this season. I don’t think we are good enough to take our foot off the gas like we used to be able to do.

Yeah what does this balding middle aged so called manager know about talent spotting?

Lost our last 2 away games to them but we're in form and they're playing after Thursday night Europa away trip. I'm going 2-1 City.

Kick off time time 14:00 (BST). On Sky Sports.

Tough game as they've started to get their shit together. They've won 5 straight in all competitions, 2 of those were Europa League games. That might be the 1 advantage we have on them, they play in the Netherlands on Thursday, so hopefully that's a tough slog for them.

Not won at Villa Park since 2021, 2-1 loss last season, 1-0 loss the season before and 1-1 draw in the treble season.

Got to hope Gonzalez is okay, I thought we lost control in the 2nd half v Villarreal without him.

-----------Donnarumma
Nunes---Dias---????---O'Reilly
----------------Gonzalez
-------Reijnders----Foden
????----------Haaland-------????

I think those 8 are a given.
- Doku should be a given but he did struggle tonight.
- Unsure who plays on the right. I'd probably push Foden or Reijnders out there and play Bernardo central.
- I would have said Gvardiol centre half but he was poor in moments tonight, albeit at left back.

Start of a season defining run of league games in my opinion:
- Villa (A)
- Bournemouth (H)
- Liverpool (H)
- Newcastle (A)
We'll learn a lot in these 4.
Sorry to nitpick but kickoff is at 14:00 GMT (not BST). Shouldn't affect anybody UK based (unless they forget to put their clocks back) but may be worth editing to avoid possible confusion for overseas Blues.

We need to play with wingers or at least some width. We can’t let Cash and Digne forage forward whenever they want. We need to make them defend a little.

Please no Reijnders.

hopefully both NIco's are available. Not sure whats happening with Khasanov, seems to be another short term injury which is longer

Donnarumma
Nunes Dias Gvardiol OReilly
Gonzales Kovacic
Foden
Cherki Haaland Savinho

Kovacic to support Nico in the middle, Savinho seems more productive on the left
