Our midfield

One look at it pre match could see it would be a problem.

Reijnders isn’t a 6 he’s not defensively minded it was his main weakness at Milan he’s not a 6
I don’t know why we don’t just play him behind Haaland.

The one game that he did actually play there he was outstanding and won us the match.

It’s not as if Foden is pulling up many trees. A couple of decent games around the derby and very little since.

Block the shot perhaps?
Harsh for me.

The corner came with a lot of pace to a player running with pace towards it, who somehow managed to control it -- no small feat -- and then swooped a laser beam strike across his body against the direction defenders were running, freezing Donnarumma, and into the side netting.

All of those happening at once feels harsh to blame the defence without real credit to the attack.

Feels like an understandable PTSD like trigger of our "one shot one goal" narrative we saw posted in here but doesn't mean that's what happened.

Correlation isn't causation.

The match commentors I hear are praising the goal, and said nothing to criticize our defence.
