Will we win the league this season?

Arsenal have gradually become the masters of the set piece and defending. And with it being the new formula for winning games you can’t see past them as champions. It might also see them winning the Champs league unless PSG’s all power attacking prevails. As for the PL title, I think it could become the most comfortable title win for many years.

Would rather they ran it at a canter tbh.

Arsenal have no brilliant players that I can see, as Kev was for us, and as Salah (let's have it right) has been for Liverpool. It is actually years since they've had a truly world-class player, and I use that term carefully and sparingly.
But they have several good players, a couple of very good ones, and above all, they play as a team. For the present, if they can continue in that vein, I don't see anyone really challenging them.
They're not slaughtering people, they're not playing champagne football. Their goal difference, if you look, is not a lot better than ours. Which is strange, because they've lost one match, and drawn one match out of nine. And on the face of it, we're a long way from that. They're just getting the job done. One goal does it, pockets the three points. It very rarely does for us.
Something we've lost, though, and I mourn it: remember the seasons where we were able to grab a goal in the last ten minutes of the game, sometimes even well into injury time, and take a point or even three? That seems to have entirely deserted us. And that was at least as much about mentality, sheer cussedness, as about technical ability.

But — the season is long, and it's a funny old season, as Jimmy Greaves might have said. Much can evolve, in both directions…

The fact they don’t concede goals is a major plus for them. 3 goals in 13 games is that? Mental that. They have only lost to the dippers and they deserved to win that game for me.

They have got some tricky games coming up though.

Don't think we have enough goals in us bar the obvious player. One of the most disappointing aspects over the last couple of seasons has been the huge decline in creating genuine top chances from and for a variety of players.

In games we were losing during the last decade or so, it was often partly because we'd miss tonnes of chances. It's something which is ironically difficult to sustain, hence we'd usually bounce back from it and go on decent goalscoring runs.

Now, we seem overly reliant on Haaland (whom we're obviously extremely lucky to have), but declined in other attacking areas in terms of style and personnel.

No....

Team in transition.....

We have a fight for top 4 and that must be our aim......

We dont have enough world class players....Haaland, Rodri and Donarumma and that is it and one of those is struggling to get fit and stay fit.
We have potential (Foden, Gvardiol,) but there are too many questions about many players, ( Marmoush - in where does he fit in, Alt Nouri, Sav, Bobb, Doku, Reijnders - are any of these good enough to play in a team that wants to win the prem)

Also too reliant on older players who have been great servants but are just passed it - Stones and Bernardo in particular

agreed - Sav, Doku and Bobb can only dream of the types of numbers Sterling for instance used to get.....Our wide players seem to have stopped attacking the back post as well

There's a long way to go and they're the form team atm. They may well get that belief so fair do's. It's a shame we're not really looking like being able to create some pressure on them.

3 genuine world class players is not so bad you know.

I think Pep has to make a decision on whether we are going to go with Doku and Savinho as wide forwards or use Cherki and Marmoush. We haven't had to make the choice up until now because Marmoush and Cherki have been injured. Now they are fit and we have a genuine choice as to whether to play 4-3-3 or to use Marmoush as a 2nd striker and to use the skill of Foden and Cherki to create chances and even weigh in with a few goals.

Think any team serious of winning the league, goes there and wins today after seeing Liverpool get beat yesterday, and knowing Arsenal have a tough game at home against Palace

The 'City of old' would have smelt bloody today

Where would you fit all those players though

Marmoush-------Haaland-----Cherki
-----------------Foden-------------------
--------------Rodri----Nico
-----------------Back 4-----------------------
-----------------Donarumma--------------

Something like that?

Or are you thinking that cherki and foden play more behind Haaland and Marmoush and our fullbacks provide width? - we dont have the right back to do that

Not taking £70m for savinho was a major dropped bollock.
