Preston City Centre

Tell you somert they don't half come hurtling down that road as well, pathetic

I had a disagreement with someone in a car park when he explained to me that I shouldn't be walking on a car park, obviously the response was justified and he went along on his way.

That walk to the bus station is fucking exhilarating to say the least :)

It has been re developed, of a fashion
Hopefully they haven't ruined it. Probably 10+ years since I've been to Preston - not much else going for it but that bus station was architecturally really interesting. I think they were trying to get it listed at one point?

It's like froggy :)

Yea, listed a good few year back now, it's a fucking eyesore to me, there's been a few jumpers as well over the years, and i don't mean the one you put over your head!

Preston town centre is an absolute shit hole. Probably no different to most town Centres these days but it’s a mix of boarded up shops, charity and pound shops, takeaways and homeless people. As for the bus station, it’s a fucking eyesore for me.

Shame as Preston has a lot going for it. Some great parks like avenham and miller park, fantastic links to Manchester, M6 etc. cracking little suburbs like Penwortham which is 10 minutes walk from the town centre and a lovely place. Just a shame the actual town centre is a dump.

Suicide Station - I studied there for a year and it pissed down every fkn day - swear I got trench-foot

I like the bus station.

Just for context, the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco has had 2000 known suicides since it opened in 1937 (nearly 1 every fortnight) but nobody immediately associates it with such a grim statistic. And there seem to be plenty of popular sites in city centre Manchester these days, the car park on the corner near Shudehill metrolink is regularly in the news.

Grim, but unfortunately happens a lot

Documentary about it a few years back, it as as eerie as fuck with the fog and peoples experiences of jumpers.
