The RSF, The UAE and the killings in Sudan

Have you not seen the pictures and videos?

For context I’ve boycotted Israeli products for years and would be upset if City planned to do pre season in Israel like Roma did

I'm confused. So you have presumably boycotted Israeli goods because they are committing what is widely called a genocide, right? Have you boycotted all British and American goods as well, on the grounds that they have been funding and supplying the Israelis? Because if you haven't, then that is what the allegations are against the UAE. Not that they are actually committing genocide, but that they are funding and supplying the RSF. So your context is, frankly, bollocks.

That would depend if any of the american owners are part of the government or work within the arms industry.
billionaires have their fingers in numerous pies either indirectly or directly, so while it may not look like it they do they will have a level of influence in government, avram glazer was a heavy donater to the republican party.

League titles over morals hey!
if we are moralising then lets be honest not a single team is whiter than white over the course of their history and therefore none of them deserve league titles if we are going by the metric of questionable morals deny you the right to league titles

If they have please provide evidence, put it in the rags thread and we can call them cunts. Any reason to call them cunts is fine with me:-)
avram glazer and one of the other glazers have donated substantial amounts to the republican party can we hold them responsible for the trump shitshow and the reintegration of testing nuclear weapons just signed off by him.

I wasn’t saying it denies a right to a league title. I just meant there are people who wouldn’t mind Hitler and Jimmy Saville running the club if it meant we kept winning trebles and twatting utd.

We have the choice to withdraw our support - if you feel strongly enough, then we'll understand and fair play to you – otherwise, feel free to carry on being sanctimonious but know this... we know that's all it is.

like i have previously said why is it only our club that are held to account for this when multiple clubs owners are nowhere close to being without sin

I can feel Sam fucking Lee writing another article on "What do Man City fans think of their owner now?" based on the content of this thread. You just know the **** is reading this and licking his lips. All for balance, of course .....

So as football fans who want to support our club what do we do? Some are more politically aware than others, a lot haven't got a clue and just sail through life oblivious.
When somebody wants to take over a football club they have to pass the fit and proper test to do so. How good a test that is is probably debatable, but it's what they use. Some like David Conn didn't like it, was very vocal in his dislike and stopped going to games. The majority of us were highly delighted that after 35 years in the wilderness we now had a chance to compete for honours, which we did and have.
In spite of our on field success it hasn't been all plain sailing off the field as we know. Now this is the latest accusation levelled at our owner and by default ourselves as a club. Where it goes and ends up is anybody's guess.
So I guess everybody has an individual moral dilemma and choice to make. Decide this issue is a step too far and as a result stop going to games unless it's resolved and/or the Sheikh leaves the club. Alternatively decide it's a political issue and it should be kept separate from our club and keep on going to games. It's not an easy choice even for a die hard blue id presume.

If a story about the UAE funding a Genocide is printed I'm all for it if in some way it makes them re think their part in it. Less kids getting slaughtered is always a good thing.

Like i have said before it is incredibly simplistic to believe that our owner is the only owner that has ties or influence in politics yet we are the ones that have to face a moral dilemma or be slated for it, is it because our owners are middle eastern and therefore we assume that they have greater say then anyone else when this is not necessarily the case.
It could be argued that at least our owners are upfront about their positions and influence in government as oppose to those who donate vast amounts in the background in order to prop up politicians and influence government policy.

Just drove past the Erihad. Load of numpties singing down down UAE. Few Palestine flags thrown in there for good measure. Because why not... ffs

yawn, the stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me. It must be so wonderful to view everything in black and white and completely ignore the shades of grey that permeate every situation.

It’s because the media in general and politicians in particular like to pretend there are binary answers to everything. Not only that, if you’re not with me, you’re not only against me but you are my enemy. It’s disappointing and ridiculous in equal measure…

I don't see much wrong with that, tbh. They aren't funding a genocide. That's hyperbolic nonsense the like of which we are getting on here.

They are funding and supplying an organisation they support in a civil war in which the party they support has taken on itself to restart the genocide of 2003-2005 (which both of the parties currently at odds were involved with).

It's a difficult balance they have to follow: they could withdraw support now and lose out on some pretty serious strategic objectives, or they could try to rein in the RSF with a threat of withdrawal.

But we all know someone else will step in with funding and weapons if the UAE does withdraw in return for all that lovely gold. Then the UAE would be fucked but at least some football fans will have a clear conscience.

Life is so fucking easy on a football forum.
