Huntingdon Train Incident - Reports of multiple stabbings

Unknown.

Also unknown…whether they would have been quickly neutralized by a good guy with a concealed carry firearm.
Ha, I was going to say that but good luck with onslaught you’ll receive. I just came home for a night from hunt camp, leaving early in the morning. I’ll leave you to it

People killed in mass shootings in America last year - 711

People killed in terrorist mass shootings in America since 1990 - 1104

People killed in terrorist mass stabbings in the UK since 1990 - 14

You two really should just shut up because you make yourselves look dumber than Trump. Your country has the worst record in the world for mass killings and we all know why.

How many shootings in the US have had a “happy ending” with the perpetrator being taken out by a member of the public with a concealed carry?

Do you think that it couldn’t happen?
Is a society better off by not being allowed to defend themselves?
Perhaps this might have been a situation where it may have helped, no one knows
Anyhoo, very sad news

R/W posters all over this - facts are unknown but hey its its Islamic Jihad and the result of Labour's border policies............. yeah right
There's crazy stuff going on inside some brains in the country and in here especially before the thread was cleaned up last night.

If it was a pair of outsiders no doubt this they'll be all over it claiming the counties gone to shit, Starmer is the anti-christ etc.

If they turn out to be white British they'll just fade out of the thread and wait for the next chance to wave some flags.

All we can say at the moment is that all the innocent people just going about their lives will hopefully recover from their injuries with no fatalities.

What has the world become. So sad
Has the world ever been any different?

Homosapiens are very violent and murderous species, and thousands of years of history shows it’s never been far away from anyone and will never be far away from any of us in the future.

Knife crime does seem to be on the rise though, or maybe reported on more, I dunno, I'm pretty lucky to just live in my bubble

What I do find strange is that with CCTV everywhere now, even on folks doorsteps, crime is everywhere by the looks of things.

Maybe before big brother it just wasnt reported, or seen, maybe theres always been more wrong-uns in society than what we ever knew before the 24/7 access to others lives.

Its not fucking pretty though thats for sure.

The notion of ‘good guys’ battling against ‘bad guys’ having so much cultural currency is probably the main reason that gun deaths are so prolific in the States because it legitimises and reinforces widespread gun ownership, and provides a simplistic and utterly flawed solution to a complex problem.

It serves as a specious justification for a system around gun ownership that causes widespread misery and fear - and ultimately enables (inter alia) school shootings to take place more readily.

albeit my experience is 5 years old but more youths are carrying knives-its def a real problem.

back when I was a pc running after youths it wouldn't cross my mind they'd have a knife-nowadays I would assume they were.

but this of course may be completely different re gang culture v organised crime-

That's my wife's trip to London to see her grandkids scuppered. She was worried about train travel before now and this will definitely make her mind up. Sad times.

Knife possession and thereby knife crime is definitely significantly higher than it was a decade ago. Many more youths are routinely carrying knives, principally (and ostensibly) for self defence.

In the states it’s guns, unfortunately here it’s knives

The USA also have knives. The UK is currently less than the US in terms of knife deaths but catching up quickly.

Latest reliable stats were 2023. USA is at 0.49% per 100k, UK is at 0.46%

10 years earlier (2013) the uk was at 0.36%, US was at 0.45

So while the UK is seeing an increase we still have less knive deaths per capita than the US and they have gun deaths on top.

Canada surprisingly is higher than both at 0.59.

Mexico is at 2.57, Guyana is at 7.62

Thoughts with all affected, there and everyhere. Horrible thing to happen and extend the madness into yet another part of normal life. Depressing.
