Huntingdon Train Incident - Reports of multiple stabbings

It seems from the little we know, that the cool thinking of the train driver may well have played a major part in why there thankfully doesn't seem to be any actual fatalities, up to now at least.

I don't know whether they are actually watching the CCTV from the train as they're driving along? But even if they're not, I'm sure he/she would have been well aware that some kind of major incident was occurring in the train. It would have been a natural reaction to panic and slam on the brakes. And if the train had come to a halt in the middle of the countryside, Christ knows what we'd be looking at now? I've little doubt, that them keeping calm and carrying on until the next major station before stopping, almost certainty has saved multiple lives.

Not the most important thing now, but something to bear in mind the next time people are insisting that all they do is pull a lever for £70K and we should automate the trains.

Poor fuckers on the train just going about theor business then this happens

To me though, anything like this should be classed as "terror"

Then just get the cunts killed who did it, no prison, nowt like that, just get rid.
Careful you will upset the woke brigade who want to educate the knife wielding scum.

I REPEAT THE COUNTRY IS FUCKED
and its only going to get a whole lot worse
we are the laughing stock of the world
it’s time now to say enough is enough
Not allowed to get angry or the usual crap will be spouted at you.
Honestly our children our going to left to desl with this crap
The solution we dont know ????? Thats not our job though thats down to a man who is the laughing stock of the world ............more false words more BS then we move on to the next terrorist incident.

That's my wife's trip to London to see her grandkids scuppered. She was worried about train travel before now and this will definitely make her mind up. Sad times.

It would be such a shame for your wife to miss out on important things like seeing the grandkids because of this incident.

For the people caught up in this attack this was obviously horrific and it's completely understandable people feel nervous, but there's probably been about 30 million individual train journeys in the UK in this last week alone. Our brains are not good at understanding how likely something with really long odds actually is, so instead we substitute how easily we can remember an instance of it happening which massively distorts things.

It's the reason they publicise lottery wins because being able to recall them makes people feel like it's more likely to happen than the vanishingly small chance in reality. Similarly, and though it's right that attacks are reported upon. their shocking nature means they stick in our minds and are easily recalled especially in the immediate aftermath. This easy recall increases the feeling that it could happen to us rather than the actual likelihood which is incredibly low.

Not to trivialise her fears but 4 people a day die in UK road accidents. And if someone wants to stab people where it's a long time before police arrive, a remote motorway service station would be as bad a place as anywhere. Depressing but rational.

and do what?
Thats down to the powers that be and we all know what that response will be ...........its ok asking random members of the public to do but that aint our job thats down to elected members who got voted in.
Bad enough that there ripping you off left right and centre but at least make us safe while doing so :(
Still we can all backbite we can all slag each others views off but yet again more innocents have been attacked and thats simply wrong whatever you think

Lets try not to jump to conclusions since the media don't really seem to know much yet.

Please stick to facts for now, not rumours.
I know we've all been told not to speculate, but doesn't everyone think the lack of information about the perpetrators is itself very telling. I do.

Would your wife consider travelling by other means?
Perhaps by coach.
It seems a pity that a rare act of violence should deter her from making that trip.
