Huntingdon Train Incident - Reports of multiple stabbings

Based on my own personal experience (which is significantly greater than most, I’ll hazard) I simply don’t accept those statistics.
Statistics can be massaged to suit and from walking around the street at night and first hand tales from my mate who is a security manager I don’t believe a single word of it.

Just watched a report that had an eyewitness account from a chap named Olly Foster.

It sounds absolutely horrific what happened.

Poor fuckers on the train just going about theor business then this happens

To me though, anything like this should be classed as "terror"

Then just get the cunts killed who did it, no prison, nowt like that, just get rid.
Totally agree. How it cant be described as terrorism even at this stage is beyond me.
It was laughable that the southport incident wasn't deemed as terrorism.

That's my wife's trip to London to see her grandkids scuppered. She was worried about train travel before now and this will definitely make her mind up. Sad times.
Got to keep things realistic. Not to be depressive but there's far more chance of being run over/car crash, meeting a nutcase on the way to the station than having an incident like that on a train that you're on. Like living with the IRA threat in the 80s/90s you've got to carry on or these bastards win.

Just wanted to say all I was checking was if your post had verified information about what the attackers had said, that’s all.

Like I said, it’s why I left Twitter - the amount of unverified information on there went through the roof!

It does yes, everybody wants to be the first getting information out there I suppose, lots make money out of such platforms. There is also mistrust in the MSM too.

It has all the hallmarks of the Borough market attack of 2019
A couple of disillusioned angry weak minded men, who've been radicalised

Once upon a time, these people had to meet somewhere. Now they sit in their bedrooms and are groomed online
& congregate in the free food hall of their tax payer funded hotel.

Or just let the police investigate-CT are already working with local police.

As always it’s a dynamic situation.

A bit like 'legal tender' there is a very specific legal definition of what will officially be classed as terrorism. And it is quite different from most people's natural view of what it might be.

Is it really that important though? The Southport guy is never going to see the outside of a prison again, whether he is officially a terrorist or not.

Yep

@paulchapo - my original reaction wasn't an attack on you and I apologise if it came across that way.

We're all a bit sensitive at work today. And thoroughly pissed off.

My union has been more proactive that our management this morning sending out communications and that bloody see it say it sorted it message seems to be on a loop. Apart from that I've not seen any increase in security. No BTP or travel safe officers.

That maybe a good sign in some respects. But some reassurance to passengers and staff might be good today.

When is the government going to come out and say Enough is enough and round up all the terrorists that are on their so-called list of known people and deport them ?

I know we've all been told not to speculate, but doesn't everyone think the lack of information about the perpetrators is itself very telling. I do.
The police press conference is due any minute, so more details will be confirmed shortly. I’m sure many people have a fair idea what has happened, but we just ask people not to speculate until facts are known because it’s not really helpful. Wrong conclusions have been jumped to in the past, and it also just leads to arguments. Within minutes of the attack last night the thread was full of arguments between right and left, on immigration, government policy etc and it just feels a bit crass to have that point-scoring when people are literally fighting for their lives.
