Pep is a Brazilian as well.

I can see why many don't like Savinho. Let's see whether he can prove them wrong.

Btw, I think Bobb is more intelligent as a player, but he has regressed recently. The season is long, hope he improves significantly, as I still think he is a bit special.
So be it.
But please , I implore you , please ...work, work, work on your crossing and shooting.

I can't remember the last time I looked at the table and we were BELOW Untied even if they have played a game more.

Maybe in November or December, 2020. We were midtable after 9-10 games back then: one point off United. We finished 12 pts clear.

He gets back and wins the ball. He gets around the pitch. Okay he is not physical but his ball recoveries are the highest of our midfield options bar Nico and Rodri. He covers more ground than anyone else in the league. Swapping Foden for Cherki will be more defensively damaging than swapping Reijnders for Cherki.

Foden is also better than Reijnders when he drops deep to help us progress the ball from defence to attack.

I for one would love to see Cherki and Foden in the same midfield.
Cherki and Foden gets my vote. My word.

Must win or not it’s just down to the players now. Let’s see what type of season they are craving. If they wanna push Arsenal they best start putting a good run together. Tough game today

Not so much in the same midfield but play Cherki from the right where he mostly played for Lyon last season which caused us to buy him, and then he and Foden can interchange from middle to right. I think they’d be difficult to combat for opposition defences and defensive midfields who would be pulled out of position by them both.

Defence is going to be key here

Gvardiol needs to play at CB, none of this LB nonsense and Khusanov needs to play, either at RB (where I'd play him) or CB

If Khusanov is at CB with Gvardiol, we need Nunes at RB not Rico, we need pace to deal with Semenyo & Co.

Not looking forward to this, never felt so low of confidence playing at home to Bournemouth

Foden offers more than Reijnders and Cherki defensively wise. But Reijnders and Cherki are very different. Reijnders is conservative in his passing. Think that his pass completion is 90 % or close to that. Cherki is like Kevin. If Pep replaces Reijnders with Foden and plays Cherki at 10, then Foden will have to be a lot more conservative in his passes for it to work, plus he will have to track back a lot more. In terms of running power, Reijnders is superior to them. Foden or Cherki aren't assisting that Haaland goal at Arsenal (not in the same manner anyway).

There are many trade-offs in using different players and sometimes even the best managers can't get them right. But, IMO, Pep won't play both Foden and Cherki in midfield against dangerous teams like Bournemouth. Maybe against some weaker teams, who knows?

O'Reilly at LB for me - Josko hasn't been great there this season and O'Reilly adds so much in the final third. Khusanov or Nunes at RB - Lewis would suffer against their pace & physicality.

I'd love Rodri & Nico together, if Rodri is fit, then have Foden, Cherki, Doku behind Haaland.

Nunes/Khus - Dias - Gvardiol - O'Reilly
Rodri - Nico
Foden - Cherki - Doku
Haaland

O'Reilly can push up, leaving 3 at the back and the midfield should enable a good build up. Foden & Cherki can interchange while Doku does his thing.
