I know it might sound bonkers but I think this game might decide the season. It lays down a statement. If we win, the league starts to realise “oh shit they’re back” but if we lose the media will jump on the bandwagon against us again and it will feel like last night and Bournemouth were flukes.
On top of that, we will fall even further behind Arsenal.
We need noise from minute 1 to 90, can’t let Liverpool hear themselves think, just like that 18-19 season.
Defence needs to be spot on, Donnarumma will have to make a couple of big saves I feel.
And of course we need Phil, Cherki and big Erl in full form and absolutely firing.
This is a game that we cannot lose.
Come on city.
It doesn’t decide the season at all. People need to fuckin cheer up!

Nervous for this game, personally. I think we're playing well transition-wise but not dominating games which may work in our favour against a Dippers side who are poor defensively.

Though typically they seem to have sorted themselves out in the past week or so just in time for us. I like Wirtz as a player and think he'll play well against us if we give him space. Maddison always has a stormer against us for the same reason.

I'd personally stick with the side from Bournemouth but get Rodri in for Cherki if he's fit enough to start and put Foden out wide. Bernie has to start, he hates these fuckers and it shows whenever we play them. It's a big game and there's no better big game players/runners than Bernie. But he has to play centrally, not out wide.

Their full backs are shit - Robertson is getting on and is starting to dive into tackles rather than get in a race while Kerkez has lost confidence and I don't rate that Bradley too highly, another one who seems to dive in - I think Doku would have either on toast.

We've got a tough game away at Newcastle (under the lights too!) after the international break too so a win going into it would do wonders.

Like yourself I think both Bradley and Robertson are vulnerable. Doku has had a very good season so far, he is certainly not the finished article but I think he could give Bradley a difficult afternoon. Robertson has been a great servant for the Scousers, but age is catching up with him and his best years are behind him.

I imagine there's a post on rawk about the match and they are talking about our vulnerability at full back too

Quite possible when you consider that both Nunes and O'Reilly will probably be playing on Sunday, both natural midfielders playing out of position. However, I personally think we should go with those two players as both are in good form and deserve to start.

They are but O’Reilly is vulnerable on that side against Salah especially if Doku plays. Be interesting to see what he does. O’Reilly should play but whether Doku will I don’t know.

No way Cherki starts this although i think we'd all love him to. Donarumma, Nunes, Dias, Gvardiol, O'reilly, Gonzalez, Bernardo, Reijnders, Doku, Foden, Haaland

100% that's the starting eleven
To be fair Pep has surprised us all this season and played the teams the fans want (Villa aside) I reckon he’ll go for it

Can we get a whip round for some spit-man t shirts? Picture of Carragher gobbing off would be do the job.

If he wants attention, let’s give it to him -:)

Robertson has been great for the last 2 matches for the dippers

The midfield battle worries me especially without Rodri. Szoboslai is Liverpools best player at the moment and is in the form of his life and I think Gravenberch is a brilliant footballer. Macallister who I also rate highly has been the weak link for them this season but now it appears he has also returned to form.

Might be an idea to put Ake as the 1st name on the team sheet as he usually has Saleh in his pocket. Build the rest around him.

NOR's having a good season but you can't let him go roaming up front and leave Saleh unattended - he's still too dangerous to be left unattended, imho. He needs to be shut-out.

Horses for courses.
