Premier League Games | 8/9 November '25

I know, I only meant its still a gap in terms of it being a 2 game gap. For me its vital we get right up behind them, within 3 points to really put the pressure on. They've proven they collapse under pressure so somebody, ideally us, has to stick them under pressure early and then maintain it if we want to see them capitulate once more (even fans of teams not expected to be involved in a title race wants to see that)
I’d rather be Second or third within touching distance until about March/April

TBF that's a pretty high bar, I'm struggling to think of a team in the history of the game that was as good as us at our best.
People have short memories and will only swak about teams in the Prem type era, or the FIFA games era.

The Ajax team of the early 70s were very, very good. The Bayern team that won 3 European Cups in a row after that. The Milan team of the 80s. All phenomenal football teams but won't get mentioned now.

Come off it, you know from today there’s no easy games in this league, we won’t be walking any game let alone Sunderland away, your team is in a fantastic position to win the league, but the mind can play tricks with teams, we’ve seen teams throw away so many titles.
Nobody has won the League after eleven games.

Not sure, looks a list of big misses but I read arse only had 6 goals from open play before today(?) so perhaps this lot haven't been so influential...

Well yeah....generally it's hard to be influential when you're injured.

Havertz and Jesus haven't started a game yet this season, Odegaard 4, Martinelli 2, Madueke got injured against us 6 weeks ago.

Arteta has been there 6 years now, they've scored plenty of open play goals, the last three seasons they were in the top 3 for open play goals each year. So either you pretend Arteta and mostly the same players have all forgotten how to do it for "banter"...or just accept the reality they've been missing a lot of the creators/scorers of those goals most of the season and have had to rely on set pieces to get around it.

It's been great news for us. Like I said in the first post they could go into the North London derby in 2 weeks just 1 point ahead, after we've had a very slow start to the season and our own injury problems. I don't really see the point in convincing yourself they can't score from open play.

Had Jesus been fit, they’d still have 6 open play goals, but have scored 23 offside open play goals.

Chelsea look like us from last season - too slow and methodical in their attack. Nobody there with any real spontaneity. That’s where the Foden’s, Kev’s, Cherki’s etc. earn their keep

We've won 8 in a row before this match and took a hard earned point against a tough opponent. I'd hardly call that a wobble.

In any case I wasn't one of the people who thought the league was wrapped up just because we'd won against a bunch of mid table sides. If we are 6 clear in April then fair enough. But if 9 games ago you'd offered me 8 wins and a draw I'd have bitten your hand off.
Jelly on a plate...

Yet when Chelsea win this they will go second and above us, I agree Chelsea don't look great but they are getting results and are in the mix
