Liverpool (H) | PL | Post Match Thread

It’s becoming ever more obvious to me that Pep wasn’t getting what he needed from his backroom team last season. That game he did where he scratched his head to pieces and appeared on camera afterwards, he looked like a man with the weight of the world on his shoulders and bereft of any idea who to turn to for help.

The whole setup looks so much more “together” this season. Pep L could well be our unsung hero.
Totally. It’s very easy to remember that we haven’t only had a transition in terms of legends quitting, but also from Txiki to Hugo. That we are already playing as well as we are doing is a huge testament to Pep, the coaching staff and the club. Amazing really. We have to expect a dip in form sooner or later but wow how promising it looks.

Like. Nothing to do with the match : )

What an absolutely stunning performance from every one of the players.

Jérémy was clearly the MotM, but none of the others could be accused of having a poor game, though I must admit, I wanted to strangle Erling, after his piss poor penalty.

We gave Littlewoods very little in the first half and the two-goal lead at halftime was fully deserved. They had no answer to Doku's scintillating wing play, and showed very little going forward, either.

They had a bit of a go at the start of the second, but never really looked like threatening. Nico O had the falling pharaoh in his pocket all afternoon.

Jérémy's goal was of the highest quality;a brilliant running dribble, and a thunderbastard of a shot that gave their goalie no chance.

All-in-all, a brilliant afternoon for City.

He is a talented footballer but you get a hell of a lot more time and space in Germany and he looks overwhelmed by the physicality here. He has looked better in Europe so far. It depends on whether he has the stomach to fight for his place and put the hard yards in to get into better condition than he's ever been in.
Could just as easily see him taking the easy option and fucking off to Bayern for half what Liverpool paid in the next couple of years.
the premier league is littered with young lads who came from the bundesliga for big cash and flopped

sancho
kagawa
mikitaryian
havertz (to a degree)
Timo Werner
Keita
Pulisic

shame we got Kev hey ;)

Thats 3 really really good performances in a row against teams who should have caused us problems. I love this formation and the freedom the 3 behind haaland have. Pep reinvents again.
Suits our CBs too not being so high up the pitch. Change of tactics and suddenly Dias is looking like a top quality CB again.

I think hes been badly advised and picked a team that don’t play his way at all. The transition from klopp tactics to slott tactcis is going to be ugly.

Hes much more a pep type player.
