it as eye catching as Wednesday, but still a proper game of football from him. He’s was everywhere.
I thought a two man midfield of Bernardo and Nico may get over ran as they were basically playing 4 centre mids. Foden was far more of an 8 today and helped us over run them.

As shit as Liverpool were, they did a half decent job of not letting us play through the middle. I think that's why Foden, Cherki and Haaland weren't a threat too often.

Our goals were two from outside the box and an old fashioned cross onto a head.

The one thing Liverpool did that worked was not let Foden and Cherki run the show but they had no answers for the rest
 
He's still learning which with his ability and achievements already is great. Learning how to control the game like David Silva and run his bollocks off like Bernardo Silva.

The last few weeks he has done so much running off of the ball, definitely gone up a level defensively.
 
He's looking more and more like David Silva each week. Finding space to influence the game from deeper areas, knows when to pick up or slow the tempo and always bursting into space in forward areas to try and make things happen. Balance to the side is so good at the moment and Phil's instrumental in that.

In terms of playing for England, this is 100 % the issue.

There were so many times in the EUROs they didn’t pass to him as didn’t trust. I don’t think personal to Phil; they just weren’t used to it.

I don’t think Phil knew how to build that trust either so all a bit frustrating.
 
He's back.
Generational player.
City fan.
So glad he's sorted out what was wrong .he s a special player
Will go on to be our most decorated player ever.
Maybe England's most decorated player.
Takes some doing to fight back when your down.
We should all be proud of him.
Blues who knocked him and doubted him are been proved wrong.
England need to build the team around this kid.
One of our own.
We love u Phil .

It’s Pep’s greatest talent, making one man do 2 jobs excellently.
Full backs that play centre mid. Bernardo playing 2/3/4 positions at once. Now Foden being a traditional centre mid, allowing Doku and Cherki to be wingers and inside forwards.
Then Foden appears in the 10. Any team with a pedestrian player like Salah or Fernandes at United will be totally over ran if we’re on our day. That’s why we struggle against the likes of Palace and Villa, even when we play Spurs, they have 10 men working their socks off.
