Media discussion - 2025/26

The 'media' is a nebulous construct, and we can always look for bias in minute detail but it's not always 'anti-City' or 'pro-anybody else'.

I think we are in danger of giving journalists too much credit for individual and independent thought, they respond to prevailing attitudes, the zeitgeist if you will, and they do so in order to inflame opinions, create debate and encourage outrage.

They aren't paid to be right, they are paid to engage and there are very few journalists/pundits/commentators that aren't subject to these constraints.

In short, the vast majority of journalists are vacuous shills, word whores, and craven lickspittles.

I fail to see how making a big issue of our goals scrubbed off wouldn’t have inflamed opinions. In fact, I’d say opinions would be inflamed with death threats.

Total bias. It would not be applied for other clubs. Robertson ducked to allow the ball to go into the net while in an offside position. That would have been offside in any decade. Murphy and Rooney don’t know the rules.
Or know the rules but have an intense anti City bias that overrides the correct answer

Listened to a report last night that the BBC are looking into bias in other areas of the corporation.
I wonder if Sly and nosey Stone are holding their breath.

Nice to see some positive takes on the battering we dished out yesterday. Of course scousers around the globe are trying to gaslight everyone into believeing that they were hard done by and had the goal been given, it would have a made a difference. They weren't and it wouldn't. Fuck off back under your rocks.
tbf even Danny Murphy said we battered 'em and that the 'goal' wouldn't have made any difference as we were better than them all over the park all afternoon

That men in blazers **** playing to his Comcast audience on MSNBC.

"Abu Dhabi club Man City play Liverpool, who have owned City for years. Chat GPT in cleats scores the first goal for the oil rich team..."

Surprised he didn't throw in 115.

For the uninitiated Comcast own Sky sports over here.

I missed that game because oh was in intensive care following massive big C removal op. When I got home, if it hadn't been for Blue Moon I would have had no idea that had happened. I didn't see motd - was the incident even shown??
It was shown but no next day public inquiry like it has been today. Different rules for us and them.
