Far right wing organisations decided to have demos this weekend targeting various hotels with alleged migrants in them.

They don't give a shit about remembrance because their side lost.
 
Politics and society in general should be about compromise not ideology. History is full of far right AND far left regimes all coming to the same conclusion that 'wouldn't the world be wonderful if it was just filled with like minded people like us'. They then embark on their, to them, fully justifiable 'cleansing and re-education' program. Far Left or Far Right zealots have basically been brainwashed. Utter nutballs the lot of them. The only sane stance is to be a centrist.

Doesn't being centrist mean being ignorant? I try and stay centre, but I'm appalled by the rise in racial hatred and mis-info from the right wing. So that automatically makes me left wing, apparently.

I agree with everything you say there apart from the last line.

Far-left and far-right ideologies do think ‘wouldn't the world be wonderful if it was just filled with like minded people like us?’ and history shows us that they tend to murder millions of people to achieve that. But Centrism isn’t the only sane stance… just don’t be at the **** fringes of either wing.

You can be a perfectly rational person with normal views and a safe and sound outlook on politics and life if you’re left-wing or if you’re right-wing. As long as you aren’t far-left or far-right, anarchist or fascist, new-left or alt-right, Commie or Nazi…

You can be left-wing without lining all the people whose opinions you hate, who might be a political opponent or future threat to power, up against a wall and shooting them dead. You can be left-wing without enforcing collectivisation of farming meaning mass starvation for whole groups of people. You can be right-wing without being a genocidal racist who sends whole groups of people to death camps.

Being a Social Democrat or a One-nation Tory is a perfectly sane and moral way to be, either way.

That people are worried about far-right influence on this thread and across the politics forum in general and across social media in general, even having to stop using certain things like X and setting up their own echo chambers away from voices they don’t like… is a symptom of the left losing their way. The left lost the plot and concentrated on the wrong things and, most of all concentrate on the negatives of everything they don’t like instead of being positive about what they do like and positive about how their ideology would be beneficial.

It’s all ‘look at this, this is shit, don’t vote for them, how can you vote for them, they’re all cunts, we hate them, shout them down, SHOUT THEM DOWN AT ALL COSTS, THEY ARE CUNTS, NAZIS, FASCISTS, NAZIS, RACISTS, NAZIS, WE HATE THEM, ARRRRRGGHH!’.

Most people have just switched off from their aggressive negativity and shouting down everything they disagree with. This opened the door to right-wing ideologies to put their foot in the door that was left open, and edge ever further right.

It’s not the only thing that happened to open the door to more far-right ideologies, but it is a factor.

funny as fuck - the concrete grower doing his bit against the backdrop that looks like a TTTV background but doesn't feature any logo etc - clearly axed and banned from using the stations ID and presumably promoting his 6 month hiatus from touring as part of the settlement agreement so he gets the full payoff

 
Don’t know about the far right but I’ve just seen the police kick a door in and take a small African child out of an house on their own as it looks like the parents are working leaving kids . And another house must have 10 adults living in it . Welcome to Britain .
