England’s first match would also be scheduled at the stadium.

Excellent news that.

Just reading about the tickets though, I trust we will take a leaf out of Scotland’s Commonwealth Games 2026 book, and offer first dibs to those with a Manchester postcode, second dibs to those with an English one, and last in line, the rest of Europe including Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

I wonder how much that’s worth, more boiling of piss from the other side of the city and the other end of the East Lancs…
Especially as they’re also using the new Everton stadium as well. No Emirates either but they’re using Tottenham’s.

Can see United, Liverpool and Arsenal launching their own competition at the same time.

3 years for Haaland to break the Premier League scoring record; get another treble and 3 in a row - should be able to get Sir Pep Guardiola, Sir Erling Haaland and Sir Phil Foden as the most successful manager ever, highest goalscorer ever and most decorated player in UK history as guests of honour.

Matches to be opened with entertainment from Liam Gallagher and Natalie Pike - should be great!

I wonder if we'll have the 115 result by then?

Getting England's opening game is quite the coup. I imagine they'll be quite the scramble for nations to acquire the use of the CFA as their home base for the tournament, will surely be the most sought after facility

Strange that for once, they've actually been sensible with the stadium picks, there is a nice geographical spread of the stadiums even at the sacrifice of just picking the biggest. From a blue point of view, it's especially pleasing that arsenal, dippers and United all miss out on hosting too.

Are those capacity stats estimates or actuals based on segregation and advertising etc

Some seem a bit low (ours, Newcastle) whereas Villa looks too high.

Not that arsed as I've been to the Etihad a few hundred times. Might be interested in a game at Hampden though as I've never been there. Sources suggest it's the worst major ground in Scotland for parking though.

Got tickets for Glasgow’26 - Athletics, Weight Lifting and Swimming.

Both the 100m finals in Athletics and a whole host of finals at the Swimming.

They all look to be 2 or 3000 less than the real capacity. Got to leave space for journos and pundits from all over Europe.
