The more playing time Cherki gets the better. He has so much to offer both creatively and goalscoring wise.

Looks a bit off the pace to me which is understandable. As good as he was against Bournemouth he was invisible against Liverpool. Like you say, he needs a good run now

A 5.30pm kick off on a Saturday at St James is not for the faint-hearted. The place will be absolutely rocking. Those Geordies have their quiet moments but not when they have been on the piss all day.

I rhink Savio is a harder worker. Id rather he starts and Cheeki co.es in around 65 minutes when the game has opened up. But either way, im good.

If Rodri is fit, I'd play both him and Nico. Newcastle's midfield is strong and physical so we've got to try and match them.

I'm not playing all 3 of Nico, Rodri and Bernardo. Play 2 of those and either Cherki or Reijnders.

The Toon are heavily dependent on feeding off the crowd. In recent years we've had our successes at SJP by taking our chances when they came. Keep possession, quieten the crowd and break quickly. Do that and we'll win.

Yep, that's been my feeling for quite a number of years now, that Newcastle are only half the team when they play away from home .... that Woltemade guy will be their biggest goal threat, but he'll only really be a threat if we're half asleep at the back and fail to mark him properly .. and Harvey Barnes will need watching too, should he play .... but we need to go there and impose ourselves on the game, and stop giving the ball away needlessly ..... like you say, don't give the home crowd any reason to be vocal and we could well leave Tyneside with all three points.

I doubt Pep will do anything similar to my suggestions but I think Gvardiol has been error prone so maybe being rested would be a good thing. And Ake is a fine player.

In for a penny in for a pound re also replacing Dias with the excellent Stones.

One thing I hope we never try again is Gvardiol at LB when other options are available.

Yep Gvardiol lacks concentration at times, and makes a few errors .... and Ake is exactly the same, he almost cost us a goal on his comeback at the Etihad a few weeks back, as he attempted to pass to another City player ...... all either player can do to correct the carelessness is remain fully aware of who's around them, and really focus on the job in hand.

Khusanov was playing very well, until injury struck, but might find it tricky to get back in the side because of Mathew's Nunes' form.

They might not be 100% if they are not fully fit. I expect that Newcastle will try and blow us away with high intensity football. Everyone knows what to expect at SJP but it's difficult to combat.
